Does it run?
That isn't a lot of amps (8.3a) to waste all that fuel and charge on 12v at only 8.3a max. That's is more of a convenience function of that generator.
A person would be better off connecting a higher amperage 120v to 12v battery charger to its mains output and then you could actually use a charger that has charging stages intended for LFP battery charging.
I use a pair of IOTA 55a RV-style chargers (one on each leg of a split-phase generator to charge on 12v LFP), to get 110a of 14.2v bulk/absorption charging, and going to add 2 more 45a IOTA chargers, to get 200a total charging, then I can load down the generator a lot closer to its capacity, for shorter runtime duration, to get better cost on fuel per hour. I already have the other 2 chargers, but haven't wired them in yet.
Some of it depends on how much amps you can safely push to your battery bank (I have six 280Ah packs in parallel, so it can take quite a bit of charging amps)
