I have a small, one panel, solar setup running an off-grid irrigation system in rural France. For the past few years this system has utilised two 12v leisure batteries to run a couple of 24v dc pumps. The batteries are reaching the end of their life so I decided to upgrade to lifepo4, and have managed to pick up a second-hand Pylontech UP2500 24v unit. My question, can I simply swap out the old lead batteries for the Pylontech battery. I am using a Renogy Rover MPPT charge controller.

Thanks

Jules

Generally yes a direct swap.
Best if the equalization can be disabled and possibly adjust the charging and float voltages to meet the battery specifications.
