Can't tell from the manual: can I plug it into my router or do I need the wifi dongle for that?

I just set mine up, I'm new to this but from what I can see no.
The software and server for network based monitoring only supports the wifi dongle, and it's tricky to set up even with that.
Took me a while searching to learn you have to change the server to a us server to get that to work.
It's monitoring is also not real time there is a delay so you don't always see when things click on and off the same things in the software and on the units screen. They can be like 4 minutes behind online, I'm guessing here but big delay. I'm talking about the modern shine server web and phone interface software.
There is some old windows 3.1 looking software floating around I haven't looked into that works in some other way like usb maybe not sure, really old software I think not internet based. Might want to search for that.
