This is what some people are calling the "mask cult", a self righteous socialist ideology which will propose we wear masks forever even as the risk of death becomes statistically insignificant.
Its a symbol to them, like the slogan "paying it forward" they proudly say. (I dont mean you and this is not all directed at you, but Im seeing this attitude increasingly) It says I will gladly self sacrifice for the good of my fellow man, even if its just a useless gesture they can wield as political capital against imaginary bogeymen like Trump supporters.
Last week they were reminding everyone their prius or tesla was greener than thou.
Meanwhile the rest of us do it the old fashioned way. Stay home if youre sick, cover your mouth if you cough or sneeze, wash your hands and dont touch things in public places.
However that doesnt give us the badge that we are in the mask club.
Which probably just gives the wearer a false sense of security and even more risk because you touch it and your face when you put it on and take it off leaving public places after touching things everyone else had touched.

Yes, wearing mask reduces the distance the virus spreads and the amount of virus.
The key word is others. I wear it to protect others and prevent hospitals from being overwhelmed.
Not the only people, as even people who are vaccinated can still get the virus and spread it to others. Chances of spreading is lower though.
I agree, non essential surgery is put on hold to make room for covid patients. If those who refused the jab would isolate themselves when they got COVID and refused hospital treatment, we could get back to normal.

Paying it forward is a kind thing to do, I have seen that kindness from all walks of life.
Wearing a mask is no big deal, it is just like any other piece of clothing. Ironically the only piece of clothing that benefits other people and we have laws about covering up other body parts.

Those are not studies. Those are letters. The references in them are to studies and reviews of zinc and the common cold. Note they say zinc is effective against colds and coronaviruses. I already said it has limited effectiveness against colds. Some versions of what is considered the common cold are coronaviruses. The fact that something works, to a limited degree, against some respiratory infections does not mean it will work against all. So to find out if they do they don't guess. They don't read right-wing blogs and watch Tucker Carlson they do studies that are randomized (as to participants so they groups become statistically indistinguishable) double-blind (so not only do the participants not know if they are getting a placebo or zinc but the people administering the drug do not know) controlled (confounding variables identified and the study designed to eliminate their influence) trials (actual trials done in accordance with guideline and protocols). This is how they determine if something works and they were quite interested in zinc. You say "It doesn't take a degree in medicine to take in information off the internet". Well, it sure helps especially these days. You need to know how to access and read actual scientific studies. You need to know how to rank scientific information. You need to understand statistical analysis and be able to recognize deviations from the randomized double-blind clinical trial protocol. This is why the absolute best advice always is to consult with your personal physician. This is an actual study. On the central coast of California, the chance of needing hospital for the population of under 50 is just over 1%. The chance of death for under 50 is less than .06%. By a large margin, the highest concentration of cases also resides in the under 50 age range. I put the location, as weather can have impact on vitamin D levels, which is one of the top co morbidities. 80% of deaths are in the 65 and older category because the chances of having 1 or more co morbidities is logically much higher. Half of the deaths over 65 are in the 84+ age range, which is longer than the majority of people live regardless.
From this perspective one can see why so many people dont see any threat.

First, I do not think that the payment schedule is in effect anymore. Hey bud, maybe you can help me out with this one. I read Joseph Murphy's report from August of 2021, he makes claims about ivermectin but I couldn't see where he got that information from, let alone that DoD had it since before the pandemic kicked off in the United States, let alone "every stage". Could you hook me up with the DoD document that shows that, I am very interested to know.
