EG4 18K Is Only Powering Loads in EPS Mode

Hi All,

My EG4 18K will power loads in EPS mode (backup power enabled). But, it won't power any loads in regular consumption mode. I have all my loads on a critical loads subpanel feed off the loads port on the 18K.

The problem is in EPS mode the 18K isn't running my new AC unit smoothly. I have a soft start on the AC unit, but in EPS mode, it sometimes lags on startup and if the AC turns on when the car is charging, the car will stop charging.

The AC only pulls 3500 watts once it's up and running.

When I'm in regular, consumption mode, it looks like the below picture where it'll actually curtail solar, and power the loads from the grid. The 2,300 watt load is the AC in stage 1.

Any ideas??

Sorry, I forgot to specify. On the above graph, I switched over to consumption mode at 11. You can see at that point where the loads switch over to the grid rather than the EPS mode.

Turns out, disabling "Off Grid Mode" allowed the EG4 18 kpv (thanks tim) to function exactly how I wanted. Hope that helps someone.

If you have a traditional 'soft-start' kit remove it and get the Micro Air EZ Start:
