Erm….novice

Okay cool,

Should I upgrade charge controller? Is there any value for such a ‘small’ system?

Bw

I've had those little pwms running for years and years, they're cheap crap but usable

If you want to upgrade the system later on youll need a different one

Looking to the future for a bigger system, you're going to want more panels . Those 100w renogys are ok but very expensive per Watt

These are great value for money

Thank you,

Looks like this comes under the max PV voltage.

So I guess leave as is, but leave charge controller as 12v rather than 24v?

Many thanks again, I recognise I have a lot to learn.

Chris
Others have already commented concerning the voltage from the panels to the SCC. In regards to the SCC settings to the battery. If you are running a 12v battery system than your charge settings are going to be 12v based. Many SCC automatically recognize battery voltage and set the charge parameters based on what they sense when you connect it to the battery. The SCC may have to be set for battery chemistry such as FLA, Gel, AGM or Lithium.

Get used to using Watts =Volts X Amps.
