Fake 280AH cells?

These were sold as Basen 280AH cells, allegedly "made in the same factory" as EVE?? Can anyone confirm if these look used based on the marks and sanded QR?

Those look like ETC cells to me and they are used. A new cell with have the QR label on top of the cell. Even then sometimes they could be used. They are not EVE's.

Did you buy them from Basen on Alibaba ?

When you say they were sold as "Basen 280Ah cells" do you mean they were sold by Basen, or you bought them used or through a middleman who said they were purchased from Basen. For reference in case you are not clear on it, Basen is a reseller, not a brand or manufacturer. Interestingly, I believe one of the other recent cases of a cell with corrosion under the insulating sheet and scratched QR codes came from Basen. But it wasn't nearly this bad from recollection.f

And as Gazoo stated, this appears to be an ETC cell (which has a rated capacity of 277Ah).

That cell looks atrocious (cosmetically). This has not been a good two weeks for cell quality. Maybe some enterprising and unscrupulous business fished out some of the containers that fell off One Apus in the middle of the pacific ?
