This is my first layout, attached is the proposed schematic, and a picture of the parts laid out on a board.

Please review before I start cutting wire: does the layout look good, should I move anything?

I currently have 3 panels in series mounted and ready to test.

Thanks!

Actual parts laid out, should I move anything?

For a stationary system why not go 48 volt core from the start?
For 2 solar strings you don't need a combiner box or over-current protection.
A double pole single throw switch is recommended as a means of disconnect though.

Looks good just give yourself room to move around and grow.
The only thing you don't list is the wire between your combiner box and SCC.
Use the like below and checking your VDI. if there is any question always go one wire size bigger.

HI John, thanks for the reply.

The 24v inverter was a prime day purchase, not the best decision. Since that purchase I think we have decided to move in the next year, so this install will just be a learning lab. More batteries and a larger inverter will be in the future.

I agree on the combiner box, so I will leave room for a DPST switch.
