Floating/missing ground pin?

Does the "ground pin" of a "three-pin device plug" electrically connect with anything when plugged into your typical "solar generator"? i.e. is the device ground pin unpopulated and floating???

I don't own a power station yet but most pictures show a cavernous hole where the ground pin typically resides so it looks like it's not connected to anything internally.

The ground pin *should* connect to Neutral at the power source. In this case the power source is the inverter of the solar generator so it *should* connect someplace in the inverter...... but I don't have one so I don't know.
