Floor Heating

Hey guys, does anybody have any experience with floor heating without lifting the flooring up? My home is mostly tile and was installed recently before we moved in, so I don't want to tear it back up.

Looks like there are some "rug" options with 120v plugs.

Anybody do anything else?

Only thing I have ever heard of is running PEX between the joist with an Aluminum backer plate that runs the length.

Still have to have hot water source though.

All the electric elements usually go on top of sub floor and underneath the tile.
