Ford Truck Tow/Camper Vehicles

2017 F150 3.5EB with the max tow package. Pictures were prior to adding weight distribution. We boondock almost exclusively. Really looking forward to seeing how the Powerboost F150 does.

We used to pull our 5er with my 96 F350. It was cool, and it got the job done, but we finally upgraded to a 18' F350 a few months ago.

You can probably tell we have a Ford problem, this is me and my wife's trucks, then my dads F250 and moms Expedition, and my brother in law just bought a 2021 F150 that wasn't here for the picture.

Yeah, actually found this thread searching the site for powerboost after seeing a pic of someone in Texas running a heater from their truck. Seems like it could be a really cool thing bringing the grid with you more or less, particularly with the 7200w model.

Deck out a trailer with solar, charge controller, battery bank, and Victron Multiplus or similar. Run a roof top AC off the multiplus and if solar alone wasn't capable and battery dropped below a certain level (hazy day, or warm night) the multiplus could start charging the bank from the truck which would turn on and off automatically as needed. My 2nd gen 3.5EB is a lot quieter than a generator. I suppose the potential wear and tear of a truck turning on and off as needed wouldn't be too much of a worry since idle hours don't count against your warranty.

Wouldn't have to worry about maxing out the roof of the camper with solar if one had an easy and automatic way to keep everything running when needed.

'97 OBS 7.3, 4WD,DRW 205/30Hybrid injectors, KC 63/70 turbo, CNC Stage 2 HPOP, D.D.EFuel pulling 25FBX toy hauler.
About to install 3 x 400w Trina panels, 8 cellx3.2 272ah Lishen batt pack, Victron 150/100, etc. Still rounding up things like Zbrackets, wondering if can do tilt brackets on such monsters....how to attach to roof, e.t. al.

Overnight at a Plantation (Harvest Host) on way to South Carolina. I did the rest of my solar install after this.

Jim, that looks like a nice peaceful spot.

I've been thinking of doing the Harvest Host thing. I don't travel enough outside the CO/WY/UT/MT region yet to make it worthwhile.

Love HH. Stayed at an Alpaca farm before that. Have done wineries, Golf course, farms, apple orchards.

I highly recommend it. They offer me a link to share for a 15% discount. Not sure if that is allowed to post?

There's a 15% off coupon on their website already.

Thanks HTRKD! I call it 7 acres of 5th wheel. Lol
With the 450 it puts me pretty long but we enjoy the room very much. A big hole in the ground I pour money into. Almost got it as bulletproof as I can get it. Then all the inside the camper projects my wife wants to do can start.

OK if your talking trailer......
