Help with off-grid system (What is all this?)

Looking to buy this total off-grid cabin here are the picture of the solar and wind power systems. A little overwhelmed! What is all this, is it any good, pretty sure the batteries are 4 year old lead acid I assume adding distilled water is part of the maintenance of the batteries.

Can't comment on the panels, but the power system stuff is high quality.

Rolls batteries, though they look a bit rough. They should be kept clean, but the staining around the cap suggests that they have enough electrolyte to vent, i.e., not too low. If they're only 4 years old, and they haven't been completely neglected, they're probably still good.

This ain't your cheap Chinese sh!t.

That looks like a Hillbilly Palace, I'd buy it. How much land & where, without giving up too much info?

Here's a negotiating point. Some of those panel mounts may be causing corrosion which, if not corrected will take decades off the life of the roof.
Check for existing leaks, real close. A recent lack of rain may make it difficult to see where it is already leaking.

There's a serious chunk of change in equipment alone. Might want to ship it back to the MFG for an overhaul though.
I would make sure all switches are OFF if you are serious about buying. Whatever you do DON'T TURN IT ON.

I would go there on a hot day with a load on system about 2-3kw and see what temps are doing on the lines, inverters, units etc.

Those batteries look like they are done, have been boiled or hot Liquid on top. Need a Gravity test on all of them for sure.

You may have to spend $10k on lithium batteries however coudl go with less AmpHR with same results.
What are your energy requirements, what is largest AMP draw? Dryer? Stove? Can you change out to natural gas or Propane?

Ask to see a monthly energy use for the property and you can get an idea of what is used.
