Hi everyone

Will 6mm2 (10awg) Solar Cable be enough for at 25m (83 foot) run?
Panels will be 183v 8.7a roughly total (6 panels in series. 30.6v, 8.7amp each)
i was thinking of running 2 strings on 1 cable.

i'm assuming yes. but i rather ask to be sure.

regards
Jeremy

Yes that 10 AWG will be fine as it is good for up to 30 amps and an 83 ft run isn't that long.

I am presently running my system on 10 awg cable a distance of about 100 ft from my inverters. I have 3 strings of 5 panels in series giving me around 185 volts on one and 2 strings of 5 in series to the other inverter. The 3 string inverter max's out at 18 amps from the PV so I am slightly overpaneled there but do not have a problem with the 10 awg cables. Your load on 2 strings will also be around 18 amps so I see no problem.
