As the title suggests, Can I use a wall outlet still tied to the grid (in a separate breaker box) to charge my batteries if there is no sun and the batteries are low? I was thinking of cutting a extension cord and splicing the wires into the input of the inverter. I would only need to use this if the batteries are low and PV not producing power.

6548 can draw 60A, so size wiring and breakers accordingly, or go into the configuration and set the maximum charge amps...

AzPilot,
What you are referring is the way I have mine setup, I have not seen it charging from grid, it goes to bypass when voltage is low, I have changed the settings to charge from grid and solar today to test if it will work.
