I have 6 100w solar panels wired for 24v. My battery pack is 8 fortune 100a 24v. automatic transfer switch , two tracer bn- 40 amp solar controllers and a pure sine wave 3000w inverter- charger 24v to 110v. My first question is which device should I use to charge the battery pack? My second question is what battery settings should I set. Thanks in advance for your help to a first time solar builder.

Also note that your MPPT will likely be much more efficient operating at a much higher voltage than 24v.
Depending on the Voc of your panels, it may be best to have all 6 of your panels in series (need to stay below 150v). Otherwise your best bet will be 3 panels in series and then the 2 strings in parallel (for around 60Vc ?).

I have 2 solar controllers for future expansion plans.
How do you have your 6 panels connected to 1 SCC now or 2 SCC?
Series? Parallel? or both?
Where do you have those 6 panels mounted? RV? or?

My voc is 22.5 v x 6 = 159v. I will consider 3 in series and 2 strings in parallel. Why would my equipment be better with this setup?

MPPT's are optimized for high voltage (but always! below max input).
And there needs to be some "headroom" of the input voltage above the battery voltage (sorry i don't know the inner details). So bringing in ~24v to charge a 24v battery is suboptimal - at some point it won't even start up if too close to battery voltage.

2 strings of 3 in series is a good solution for your 6 panels.

I have 2 SCC's because the output of one is 20 amps ac and I want 40amps to tie into my home for emergency power to critical items.

I want 40amps to tie into my home for emergency power to critical items.
With 8x 100ah LiFePO4 (nice big bank!) it will take a lot to fill them.

100ah x 8 x 24v = 19,000wh!
With 5 hours of charging, that would take 3,800w of solar panels to recharge completely.
3800w / 24v /5h = 31.6A <--- pretty well sized for 2x 40A chargers.

But 38x 100w panels? Yow.

If I understand you on that 20 amps ac output.
The Output on the 40A 150V PV Input Epever Tracer 4215BN LOAD TERMINALS is 20A DC
There is no AC out of a SCC.
You get AC out of an inverter.
The LOAD TERMINALS are going to the light bulb in pic below.
Output is probably 24 volts at 20A but I am not sure about that?
The SCC would only output on the load terminal when the sun is shining.
Your Battery is for emergency power to critical items 24 hrs a day.

Nominal system voltage: 12V/24V Auto Work
Rated Battery Current: 40A
Rated Load Current: 20A
Max.PV open circut voltage: 150V

Max. PV input power: 520W (12V), 1040W (24V)

I was not clear on my battery bank. I have 8 fortune cells, each is 3.2v 100ah so hooked up in series results in a total of 25.6v at 100ah.

I think he means 8 x 3.2V Fortune 100A cells = 25.6V battery at 100AH = 2400 watts.
Aww... i was genuinely impressed with 8x 24v LiFePO4 batteries!

OP, let me know if you need help with the math above after MBR once again showed me the errors of my ways.

I am constrained on how many solar panels I can install. I don't want them on my roof so I am installing ground level array. My plan is to add 400 more watts for a total of 1000watts.
Do I not need two solar controllers?
