New to solar. Have used a little harbor freight kit in a building to become a little familiar with solar. My questions is I have 4 - 245 watt panels open circuit voltage is 37.5 v. Max power voltage 30.2. Max power current 8.13 amp. I have a epever 40 amp charge controller. Will 2 panels work for 12 v system through charge controller? Or do I need to set it up to 24 volt?. Trying to build a little at a time. Will eventually go to 24 volt just wanted to do it as money is available. Thanks.

It depends on the capabilities of your epever 40 amp charge controller and/or the voltage of your battery bank (if you have one). Take a look at Figuring out how many panels in series and parallel based on your MPPT and see if that won't answer your questions, the FAQ has a lot more topics that might help too. Ask questions on anything you don't understand and hope to see photos of your setup in the Show & Tell forum!
