Positive shunt for monitoring alternator output?

Hello, I'm l to add an amperage monitor to my alternator. Reason being is that there's a chance it could be overpowered if several rare conditions are true, and I'd like to monitor this and switch accessories off whilst driving if it happens (a monitor with a relay or buzzer that will trigger at a set threshold would be even better)

All shunt systems I've seen get added onto the negative side, but this won't work for me since the alternator is grounded to the chassis. Does a know of a shunt and monitor which will work on the positive side?
Thank you!

the Thornwave 5S shunt connects on the positive side

Any shunt will work on the positive or negative wire. Most applications would have it on the negative, but the shunt doesn't care.

Do you want a full monitor or just a functioning ammeter?

I miss the old Chrysler's dash ammeter....
