Hi there, I am new here & I am hoping someone can help me out with regards to fuse sizes for my new Solar setup for my Allotment shed. I am busy wiring the system up & just wanted to check for fuse sizes for my system before firing it up.

fuse size between 30W Solar Panel & 10A PWM Controller ?
fuse size between 120ah battery & 10A PWM Controller?
fuse size between 4.5W 12v LED light & 120ah battery?

please be gentle with this NOOB to Solar power

I’d fuse to 15 amps for the wire provided the wire can handle the amps with this accounting for expansion to the 10 amp max of the PWM. For just the 30 watt panel alone, I’d use a 5 or 7 amp fuse. A fuse is not needed unless you go parallel, usually three strings or more.
fuse size between 120ah battery & 10A PWM Controller?
Same as above. I recommend you do a energy audit to see if this 120 ah battery gets enough charge from a 30 watt panel for your load.
fuse size between 4.5W 12v LED light & 120ah battery?
The smallest fuse I could find. 2 amp - 5 amps.

Hi Chrisski, thanks for the swift reply regarding the fuses. So let me make sure I am reading this right from your reply?

I am only running 1 x 30W panel so do I need a 15A or 5A or 7A ? Between panel & controller As you have stated those 3 different sizes in your reply

A 5A or 7A between battery & controller

A 2A between the battery & LED light.

Also what do you mean by an energy audit ? Sorry if thats a Noob ?

Thanks in advance
