State and federal officials confirmed a 4.3 magnitude earthquake in Texas Wednesday was felt in Carlsbad. No damaged was reported in the Carlsbad area.

Discovery of radioactive liquid pauses work at US nuke dump

An area at the U.S. government’s nuclear waste repository in southeastern New Mexico was evacuated over the weekend after workers handling a shipping container discovered a small amount of radioactive liquid inside it.

That's minor stuff.. and its a nuke dump no less.

Of more interest to me is that they don't say how radioactive the liquid is. A banana is technically radioactive, as are some household smoke alarms since they contain a small amount of the unstable element americium.

Between the smoke alarms and the bananas, I don't know how we humans survive..

Heh! I was radioactive after I finished cancer treatment. Not glow-in-the-dark radioactive though. That would have been pretty cool. I was warned to not take a whiz in the backyard because it would kill the rabbits if they ate in that spot (due to the chemotherapy). Seemed like an opportunity to rid the neighborhood of some pesky wabbits to me.
