Hi, I used a 1/16" thick 2x4 foot piece of recycled rubber to insulate between the 16 cells of a 48V 202 Ah bank. I know many people here are using larger cells and this sheet might not work out as well for you, but I was pleased to find a layout that uses almost all of it. In the image you can see where I cut out 14 sheets. And I'll use the remainder to make a long strip to go between the two rows of cells.
This rubber is quite hard and doesn't noticeable deflect when pressing on it, so I don't expect it to change thickness in use.
I got it from Grainger who sells it by the sheet for $7.37. Shipping is more than that if you buy only this, so maybe see if they have good prices on other parts you need. https://www.grainger.com/product/GRAINGER-APPROVED-Rubber-Sheet-10U450
