I am planning to build a system in truck bed with a 200Ah battery and a 3000W inverter. I was looking at 40A isolated DC-DC charger. The wiring diagram shows both negatives (house batter side and starter battery side) connect to chasis ground. SO effectively its non isolated. I am wondering, instead of connecting the negative to chassis does it make sense to just connect both negatives together and starter battery side connected to chasis (from the starter battery connection)?
