Renogy Rover60a trouble shooting problem
On a 24v system, after burning a wire and circuit breaker between the PV array and the controller (burnt on the controller side) I found the controller +PV terminal on the controller was emitting 156 volts no idea why? My solar panels, as I have them all in parallel are outputting 40v
Any help would be appreciated

Thanks
Bob

Dumb question: Do you have four panels?
Was that 156V without the panels connected?

Just fishing in the dark here.

What makes you think you have 156V. Sounds more like a bad meter.
If it’s somehow getting backfed from a dreadful mod-sine inverter is my only thought. That’s around a probable highest volts of stepped sine high-side output

The feedback is coming from the controller it’s not connected to anything except the 24 v battery. When disconnected from everything left for 1 hr the voltage drops to zero at the +pv. When powered up by the battery terminals +pv has 156v battery + 25v

Is that AC volts? But no current?
And if DC volts is it pos on the pos(+) side?
