Romex for dc mains cable

With AC power at very high frequency, yes. DC has zero concerns for strands, vs solid. All dc cares about is cross sectional area, and conductive continuity.

I will repeat... ALL stranded wiring in household and dc use is stranded for FLEXIBILITY AND EASE OF ROUTING.
High tension power transmission and high frequency AC, the strands are for skin effect etc... but with under 240hz, or DC (zero hz) strands are only for flexibility.

PERIOD.
Insulation an thicknesses of insulation are different dc has more and ac has less . DC wire is more practical for direct current and ac wire is designed and more practical for alternating current .
But who's to say you cant use it ? All codes came from experience and or accidents even deaths over a long period of time . A Shock isn't a pleasant thing to encounter.

Loose connections get hot and prone to fire . Grounding is first most important next to having power . So loose connections can short and trip a breaker or fuse ,safety is best practiced from the start . Making it safe and less unpredictable is better practiced every day.

Example , pipe ? You can glue gray electric pipe to white water pipes and it works but it dont look good . White pipe carrying water to a water take should be buried but people just leave on the surface and the sun hits it releasing poly vinyl chloride into your water and you knowingly, or unknowingly ingest it and now your shooting blanks?

Theres a reason for many types of different materials . Will they work in different applications sure it depends on how well its installed and safety ? Cost savings can cause accidents and or death . Temporary ok , permanently temporary?

Knowing what inside is key . What you use as materials gives off identification what it is . Could save $ cause you have or could save lives , Yours! Or maybe someone who dont know what your doing ...

This is a well written response...

Please find somewhere that states romex should not be used for dc.
