I have came across a burnt looking connector and cable end going from inverter to battery . The cable is bubbled at the connection to battery. I have spoken to seplos about this . after i do replace the internal cables that seem a bit damaged. there suggestion is to change the cable from 25mm to 50mm or reduce the current from 100 to 50ah. I can replace a bit of the cable from the battery to my isolator switch and increase to 50mm. then from the isolator switch to inverter i was using the supplied cabled with the inverter that are 25mm. Seplos have asked to see if i can change the terminal posts on my solis hybrid i have never heard of that suggestion before. As for me to reduce the current down to 50 amps to not cover a house load during dinner times making the battery less effective. Any suggestions what is the best action.

Exactly which cable is it? The one supplied with the Solis or within the battery or from your isolator to battery?
Sounds to me like a bad crimp or connection has higher resistance = too much heat generated, rather than an issue with cable size per-se.

Yes, if in free air - not through walls or insulation. Ideal to be greater than that to minimise power loss, especially if long. However, as you know, the Solis supplied cables are only 25mm2 for 100A. I have similar, but the rest of my battery cables is now 40mm2.
The cable's diameter itself won't have caused overheating at 100A - as I said in post #2 and @houseofancients suspects, it's most likely bad connection or crimp.

Have just upgraded to a larger inverter that will now handle 100A (48V system). Have upgraded fuses and DC cables as far as possible - we now have 40mm2 cables to support the new load. But, at either end of my 40mm2 cables, I am left with... - the supplied Solis DC cables with Amphenol...

It is blurry but it looks to me that the lug on the outside is not positioned right, so it is resting on the plastic to the side, causing it to sit angled and create a bad connection. The lug should be rotated 90 degrees so that it doesn't rest on that red plastic.

Replace the connector and external wire, should be able to clean up and reuse the bus bar.

Can you zoom out ?
Seplos boxes use futuronics connector on the out side of their Mason boxes, and certain don't look to be futronics connectors
