Today's Daly SmartBMS Android App Update forces a firmware update which fails

Thank you for your help.
Regarding the strings of cells, does this mean parallel cells or is this some other concept ?
I guess I use one string of 16 cells right ?

For now the BMS is working as excepted, I just can't see the live status of the SOC and other data but overall it's doing it's job. I'm not sure I want to risk a firmware update (and also I don't have so much time for it).

How likely is it that Daly will release a new APP/firmware to solve all the issues ?

Until 23.12.22 daly don't give Firmware to Users.
With the updated App (2.4.0) Desaster, daly must give Firmware to reactivate the broken BMS.
I guess you have a Others issue, as Firmware.
Can, you make a Screenshot-Luke this ..

Strange, In that Situation i would try to Update or Change the BMS.

In this Thread are all Tools that are needed for Update. I would try it with bms-android-app. (Some Posts in Front).

Ok, thanks for the info. I guess you are working for Daly right ?
If I understand corretly, for people that didn't try to update the firmware till now, we just have to wait until the next app release ?

Thank you Lily, that someone from Daly now also speaks here and certainly saves one or the other from an expensive new purchase. This is a very very good start that should be expanded!

I and many many other people would welcome it VERY much, if also times some light into darkness of the topic of the "incorrectly indicated current measurements" can be brought. Sometimes there are considerable complications in the interaction with various inverters, constant, short charging and discharging because the BMS thinks "oops, I'm in the limit, stop the whole thing right away!" Especially in connected systems that actively communicate with the BMS (Victron via SerialBattery-Driver) etc. it sometimes messes up the whole system. Such basic things MUST work and if they don't, communicate and fix it.

It would be enough if your "support" in this regard is limited to ONE forum.... Here for example, since English-speaking, with international range, it would have ALL something of it and not only the customers who have bought directly from you in the store. The whole Rebrands are called in the vernacular namely also only "Daly" and thus also indirectly fall back on you.
Communicate problems openly, maybe even with a solution, and the community will take care of the rest if this question comes up again. Thus your effort is limited to a manageable level. Add a note that firmware updates are ALWAYS done at YOUR OWN risk and you're done.

Many have already switched to alternatives from JK or JBD, since these deliver for the money partly significantly more, or basic functions work CORRECTLY. So, give yourself a push and the people will thank you through loyalty (and corresponding sales)!

Greetings from Germany!

Mine is a R05A-GA23 4S100A version (probably old version). Not sure what firmware to upgrade. Under Sinowealth (don't have access from PC Master) it says "software version: 1.03 hardware: 2.10 (SH39F003 serial number under Smart BMS) so I guess I have to use the DalyBmsApp_103_303(12_221130_100T) firmware??? This is a 2021 BMS.

Update: Tried it. It doesn't do it through the BMS basis app. It keeps repeating the boot upgrade command. I have two more options now, the BmsSTM32F030_303_20220722.s19 and BmsGD32E230_303(32_221130_100T).s19. Does anybody know which could be the one? Thanks

Hello Lily Chan,
I think it's very good that someone from Shenzhen (Daly?) is also reporting here in the forum. You can read here what problems the Daly users have. I hope you have read in this thread how much the users themselves have found out. However, direct contact with Daly Support, here, would be greatly appreciated. For many, it becomes a purchasing decision.
One thing that was buggy 2.4.0 apps version which made many BMS unusable. I know from my own experience that the sellers (DALY BMS Factory Store, DALY Official Store at Ali) are rarely helpful. The problem with 2.4.0 apps is already solved.
Second thing, these are basic functions on Daly BMS. For example problem with current measurement when discharging. The BMS show peak values (in Smart BMS apps), which are useless when the inverter is used as a load. Only "xxxx_CADC.s19" firmware from Feb.2022 can display (current) mean value correctly. Newer devices no longer.
Kind regards

An Others issue. I was wondering about the average voltage.

Any hints on newer Version for Update?

- 4s, 12 Volt
- GD230-DVCE
- R06A2-HE21
- 34_220323_100T

Hi all, I have a 17S / 500A lifePo4 BMS. The biggest current ratings they have. My BMS is completely bricked. I try downgrading every version of the android app, doesn't work. I try to connect trough UART, doesn't work. I try OTA firmware update trough Bluetooth with code 220736 given in a previous post. Upgrade start but stall indefinitely at 0% . I am now stuck has I have tried everything I could try. I don't have tried upgrade through CAN nor RS485 because I did not have the equipment needed. Don't think it will work with CAN as it seems CAN is not working anymore ( know it because I used to extract data from BMS through CAN com ). And of course it is beginning of CNY now.... Won't have any reply for a couple of weeks... Damn. Anyone in the same situation ?

The OTA code 220736 you have used is for 4S units, so won't work on a 17S unit.
Attached are the codes supplied to me by the seller I bought my Daly BMS from. They were provided to him by Daly. You may find one of these codes works. You will need to use the 309 codes. The 303 codes are for 4S units.

The wrong code will not work and will either hang at 0% or fail, so there appears to be no danger in trying them all.

Unfortunately, the right code might also fail the first time (as it did with me). I eventually loaded the correct firmware using the base.apk Android App which you'll find in this thread. Even then, I had to try every variant of the firmware a couple of times - downloading them again because they seemed to be corrupt - until I finally had success. My BMS was difficult to start once re-flashed, but did eventually come to life.

OTA eventually launch but fail at 100% . I would like to try with base/apk but don't have the correct firmware and I am a bit afraid to send a wrong firmware. Where do you get the firmware in function of your material ?

With the Base.apk the Firmware will be checked If IT the correct once. All avaible Firmware are in this Thread.
You can ASK your Dealer, If IT IS direct from daly IT Takes Times, because of China new year Holidays (cyn)
