Victron Power In / Smart Shunt

Hello,

I've been purchasing components slowly over the past year and finally have everything i need to build a modest backup system. I currently have 2 x 300AH 12V LifeP04 batteries that i would like to parallel using the victron power in (connecting each battery directly to the power in, and not to each other. I will also be connecting a charge controller into the Power In as well. My question is where to locate the battery switch and the smart shunt. Can I just connect them to the tabs coming off the left side of the Power In and then to the inverter? Or will I only capture discharge info?

Battery Neg to Shunt to Power In negative side, on battery side, not the inverter side of the Power In.

Battery On/Off switch at battery positive side of Power In on battery side of Power In.

Connect to side bar directly IF one can fit or reach but most would use short cables?
