You don't have to buy hardware from them, you can just download the software onto your own supplied hardware.


How do you propose the data would get to their server?

Same as other brands such as Growatt is doing. The inverter will just push the data to their server

Then buy their kit.

My Fronius grid tied inverter does it but that's a $4,000 inverter + a $600 meter + installation.

I felt the same way. And after trying several other options. And wasting $250 in total. I decided to go for it. I wish that I would have just done it to begin with.
Being a stubborn old man can get expensive, sometimes. lol

There is, but solar assistant is based out of i think South Africa, so give him some time, he will get back to you
