Where to find female version of gnerator power inlet box?

Hi All

I have a EG4 mounted inside one building.
I would like to go through the wall and have a female plug on the outside of the exterior wall.

then when necessary plug in a long cord that will run power to another building.

Basically I want a female version of the below, in a weather resistant box.

I can find a flang mount female outlet like the bottom picture. But can't find one in a box. Nor a good box to mount it in.


And now that i finish writing this potentially stupid question. I realize that maybe i can just buy both of the below and remove the male and install the female.....

I did find what you're looking for w/ google here: https://www.lockingpowercords.com/products/908-hubbell-l14-30-twist-lock-receptacles.aspx , but it seems more expensive than the other options.

Another thing you could potentially do is one of these style boxes, although unless your receptacle is recessed quite deep.. I wouldn't expect it to be able to close on a big L15-30 or L14-30 plug/cable. I think they make some with a diagonal receptacle to offer complete weather protection... but haven't seen one of them in a while.

Been there done that.
I got a Square-D generator inlet box, hard-wired the "generator" breaker to my inverter through conduit.
I then replaced plug with socket, have a 20A 120/240V twist-lock outlet on GFIC.

Because plug (or socket) is on the bottom, it is good for wet in-use.

Wow, all these replies and not one pointing out plugging in the extension cord, and then cutting the wires on a live cord is not a good idea? I've seen a couple of inverters that have a female extension cord pigtail for how you hook up the AC device, or plug in a strip to hook up multiple...
