So I put in my 3 new EG4 Powerpro batteries to replace my single Fortress 18kw. I had the Fortress connected with a 4/0 flexible cable to my two Sol-ark 12k's.

The new Eg4's only accept 2/0 wire from the inverter to the main battery. I noticed today that the 2/0 flex cable gets warm when pushing a lot of power like charging my car. Now they don't get hot, but they do get warm. If I had to choose a temp I would say about 80-90 degrees. Now the more solid 12 strand 2/0 cable do not get warm at all, just the flex.

I know wires do heat up with current, I just don't know what is acceptable. Should I be concerned? Is this a problem that would only get worse over time?

Probably fine but it depends on how many amps you are running at the time.

Check the voltage drop at highest typical amps and report back if you don't mind.

I have 2/0 cables from my EG4's, now Victron inverter to my diy batteries...I can charge my EV and the cables are still room temp. Double check your setup.
