Wiring a generator to my Eg4 48 volt 3 kw inverter

My 6 kw generator has a 120/ 240 volt 30 amp locking receptle with four contacts. The "ac in" connections on the inverter has a load. neutral and ground for 120 volts. How do I wire the plug? Do I only use the hot, neutral and ground on the plug and leave the second hot on the plug empty? I'm a littie confused by this dual voltage use.

Yes, just use one of the hots, the neutral, and ground, and leave the other hot unconnected to anything.
