You are on the eleventh page of a thread that does nothing but talks about using these units. Just read through this forum.

The odds of you getting a full 4kWh of usable energy out of each pack is about 2%. Expect and be happy with 1.5kWh to 2.0 kWh. They are very used and do have real irreparable degraded cells. The bright side though it is usually only 1 or 2 of the 8 cells that are hopelessly degraded. If you take the time and totally dismantle the packs, you have a very good probability of getting 90 to 95% new capacity.

Out of the 26 packs I received from BCH, 1 pack had a cell of 66ah capacity, the rest all tested 110-120ah.

That being said they were no where near the guarantee of 80% of 5.6kw capacity. I spoke with Guy from BCH after Wills post on the subject and Guy and I came to an agreement, I offered to pay the shipping and Guy insisted it was on him because they didn't meet his guarantee.

I would not hesitate to purchase these Byd's from BCH.. Just expect about 110ah... Could you end up with a dud.. Sure..would you end up being stuck with it.. I doubt it..

Like I say, the reality IS, you are looking at batteries that are WAY below 50% of new performance. You go tell that to ANYONE that knows batteries and they will tell you they are scrap. At this point, I am ready to proceed with a class action to resolve this. The resellers seem to be content with "they are cheap", from my perspective, thousands for "junk" is not cheap. Not one manufacturer recommends pushing batteries like this and I can guarantee they were considered "scrap" when removed, but that would cost money, so lets lie to people and sell them!

If you are interested in participating in a class action suit, please PM me for details. I am currently rounding up an independent "expert" on batteries and testing, because I am sure they will consider my work "biased". This is no different than Walmart lying about their batteries but they have a return policy.

Even IF they were to just send you more junk, there is no value. They will start failing and these batteries are a common as a dog that wears glasses.

Yeah that sucks. Maybe i should just stick with new xuba cells from china.

Buy from BatteryHookup, better warranty, and stand by their words, unlike BatteryClearingHouse. They shipped me pouches that were not wrapped in bubble wrap and most of them had bent terminals and about 8% had physical damage, pouched became soft and bent in middle or corners. They would not stand by their warranty. I have pictures and videoes to share.

I CERTAINLY wish I had known about them prior to ordering the 4 from battery hookup... I drive past their warehouse every day...

I would not wish to buy from them anymore. I bought Lithium-based SPIM08HP from them and they came in boxes with no bubble wrap or anything. Nothing. Most of the pouches had their terminals bent during shipping for the lack of protection, and I had to spend hours straightening them out. Some pouches were puffed and some were soft and bent. And when I asked for those physically damaged ones to be returned, because of their ill shipping (see pictures), they refused. So, it is not a big loss, but I wanted to warn the rest about this.

I am just chipping in my personal experience. I will admit that at times it's hard to connect with him, but I just call back. Remember these guys are wholesalers not really retailers.

I spoke to him a while ago. I don't think they are at the warehouse all day. I don't know. Just my 2 cents.

I had to wait three days when I try to buy SPIM08HP from them. Never buying again. I will be buying from Battery Hookup. Battery Clearing House shipped me some batteries and did not provide any wrapping. I literally spent two days straightening the terminals out. and about 10-11 pouches got physically bent. the worse thing is I got an email saying that They only honor their capacity below 80% and not willing to admit that they screwed up in shipping. Never buying from them again. Bad business model. See pictures :

I will chime in here by saying, I honestly believe that the sellers knew these were junk/scrap and tried to make some dollars from us wanting good battery deals. These sellers made a killing from these. I ordered 2 sets of these batteries, first set were not as good as I would have liked but i lived with it. I got a second set for me and some friends, man was I embarrassed when i saw these cells. I could not believe in all fairness someone could ship these to a customer. Some of these things were so swollen that the bms at the front of the unit could no longer fit there. Almost all of them was at some stage of pregnancy. I mean, I could not ship them to my enemy.
These batteries were probably bought as scrap, cant see these being sold to these sellers as used batteries. Not the condition I saw.
