Xiaoxiang BMS app/software update from wnsnty.xyz????

Are you prompted for a password with Carplounge & xiaoxiang apps? Polinovel is view only & doesn't require password.

Xiaoxiang does not ask for password but Carplounge asked and I inserted 000000 and it worked. In short, I read another thread on this forum where it was recommended that I click "the device can be connected" or something similar on the top right of the app. I did so and can now read and edit all the parameters

The new problem is that the BMS appear to be in the off state so that the battery terminals read 0V. Again bypassing the BMS using a multimeter shows 52.5V. If I disconnect the negative terminal linking the battery pack to the BMS and reconnect, the external terminals read 52.5V. Once I connect the charge controller however, the charge controller screen jumps to 57.5V and practically doesn't charge the battery (only 0.1A). I'm totally at loss as to what is actually going on.

Hey @GreenDynamix - Did you buy your BMS from Overkill, or did you buy a stock JDB unit? If it is from Overkill, Steve is really, really good at responding to virtually any question or issue. He may recognize something simple in your situation, or he may need to replace your BMS. Not to make you feel bad, but if you didn't buy from Overkill this may serve as a lesson for others that they should buy from Overkill.

Does anyone know of a way to reset the protection stats in the Xiaoxiang app? I've been running some experiments forcing cell overvoltage, under voltage, and low temp events, but now I'd like to reset those counts so that if I see a non-zero on any of them I know something happened that shouldn't have. I can't remember what the count was last time, so when I see it say that there have been N cell overvoltage cut-offs I don't know if something new happened, or if it's still what it was before.

That's a good question. I've experimented the same with the temperature settings. I also did similar tests with the Victron BMV-712, just to hear the alarm.

For what it's worth, I have two 150Ah LiFePO4 batteries with JBD SP04S005-L4S-150A-B-U BMS and I haven't had any issues with the xiaoxiang 10.21 BT connection. I UNLINK the one the BT is connected to and then click the other one and it connects fine. And vice versa.

Just to save you from trying: I went into the settings for the phone and cleared the data for the app. When I ran the app I had to re-answer the preliminary questions about letting it use the GPS and what the capacity of the battery was. However, all the protection counts were the same. If I were to guess, that must mean that the protection counts are kept on the BMS, not by the app.

Good to know. A reset should be there you would think.

Unfortunately for me I did not buy mine from overkill. It came built-in with a 48v battery I bought from China.

I grabbed the latest version from Overkill Solar. I like the ability to see each cells voltage when viewing the main status page.

3.1.1026

Is it normal that when the battery capacity get down to about 10% the BMS cannot connect to the Xiaoxiang app anymore? I'm usin th 10.21 and while doing a capacity test and discharging the battery the Xiaoxiang app lost connection to the BMS. I can see the BMS in the apps but when I try to connect to it it'll ask for the password for random number of times, then opens the app, but doesn't refresh the dashboard and after some seconds the app closes down. What's happening here?

So I think both 3.1.1021 and 3.1.1026 have some problems. I kinda feel bad since I was the one who convinced Steve @ Overkill to replace the download link for 3.1.1015 with the one for 3.1.1026. I've dropped back to 3.1.1015 and am happy enough with it.

Steve's made some comments in his manual and in videos about the Android app. He has an iPhone but I believe thinks the Android app is not as good. For example, you can calibrate the voltage measurements of the BMS via the iPhone or the Windows app, but not from the Android app. I purchased the USB interface for the BMS when I bought mine, so I'm probably going to try that out with the Windows app.

I tested 1026 against my two BMS today and it worked fine. Just like 1015, it doesn't like switching between BMS but will do it by clicking on the BMS again. My settings, including the BMS names, were still there. The first time I connected to each BMS, the app prompted me to confirm the Ah capacity and cycle amount (in Ah). I use 280 and 240, respectively.

I'm running Android 11 on a Samsung Galaxy S10.

I'm using a JBD bms on a 10s pack, with Leaf modules. I have a question about the JBD bms parameter settings. I have the v3.1.1015 app version on android.

I would like to use a cell voltage range of about 3.6 to 4.1. The bottom voltage is a minor issue: the lower cell voltage cutoff seems like it can't be set above 3.2 volts per cell, at least from the bluetooth android app. Is that really a limit of the BMS firmware, or is just the android app.

I can set the pack voltage at 10x = 36.0v, or I've set it now at 37.1v since that's about where the currently not so well balanced cell hits 3.6v. I'm charging 2 lower cells separately to get them back into balance.

Question regarding the Dashboard on v21 and v26. My BMS has two temp sensors, one on the cells and then the one incorporated in the JBD BMS. The dashboard shows the temp of the BMS, but I'd like to change it to show the temp of the cells, but haven't found a way to do this. So now Temp-2 is feeding the dashboard, but I'd like to change it to Temp-1. Is it possible to select the temp input for the dashboard?

The dashboard should be showing the highest of the two temperatures. I haven't found a way to pick just one.
