Hi all,
I've just ordered 16x 280Ah Eve Class B cells from Amy Wan at Luyuan (1st October) and a Mason 280 Enclosure with 200A V16 BMS from Carl at Seplos (8th October) for delivery to Sydney, Australia.
Amy was excellent to deal with and the payment options she offered via Alibaba were extensive. I used the "Pay in AUD option which had a good exchange rate and was very simple". Luyuan are delivering in 2 drops of 8 cells each using the DAP Incoterms.
Carl was a little less easy to deal with, and I'm a little skeptical about some of the details he told me. For example, I asked for a Class T fuse. He told me he checked with the engineers and they said it comes with a Class T fuse. The marketing pictures do not show a Class T fuse, but lets see what transpires. Getting an acceptable delivery option from Seplos was a slow process, but we eventually got it nailed down to DDP (Tax Paid), so hopefully no customs getting in the way. The only payment option offered by Seplos was Paypal, where the exchange rate to AUD was US60c, with Paypal skimming 4-5% on the exchange.
Carl was helpful, and fixed the price in AUD for me at around 64c and I paid in AUD.
I intend to build two batteries, but with the unknowns in getting the Seplos box over the line, I have decided to build the first battery completely before ordering the parts for the second one. My system can easily adopt the second battery after its built.
I will post further details here about my experience with Luyuan and Seplos for this project.
