Growatt SPF 5000ES firmware update

ok seems to be connected to your Production Number on the barcode sticker on the lower side. Mine have a Production number on the end 13200 and both work with the 067 068 Firmwares. Seems Growatt changed recently again hardware components. As they also change the firmware I assume there are hardwarechanges which make the old firmwares incompatible with your inverter. The fan issues where addressed by the F2 version for the 067 hardware base. I would recommend to report it to your local growatt support maybe they also have a firmware in place for the newer HW model as this is and was a common issue with most of the 067 inverters. So for now no recommendation to flash 067/068 firmwares on your machine...
Thank you so much for your feedback, I've managed to sort out 3 of the 067/068 with the fan issue , and this new one installed at my parent's house go figure would be a headbanger,Thanks again will contact them again tomorrow

You cannot update 040/041 on these units, not the same hardware, the update was from 067 01 104 / 068 01 104
How about the other way around ? I’ve successfully updated one of the inverters from 0.67 01 1.04 to 0.67 F4 A.27.

Thinking of updating the other inverter from 0.40 06 to the 0.67 F4 A.27 too. Anything I should look out for ?

I never tried it but as far as I know the 0.4X and the 0.6X version have different communication processors. That is the reason why there are different firmwares around. but inverters with the 0.4X can be used in combination with 0.6X inverters. recently there was a new firmware version posted here, so this seems to me that growatt made hardware changes to thelatest devices. let´s see how long we will see firmware updates on the older hardware versions...

In addition to “skylink” and “kirkdis”, there is a warning from the site “amosplanet.org” (Growatt specialist) that old control board FW 0.40 cannot be upgraded to 0.67 F4… screenshot shown below;6318D938-1CFA-441A-9B68-6A1EA6939F28.jpeg

I have a problem with the update,
I install the driver XR21v1410 because the cp210 are not working.
Windows find serial us device…
With the Xr driver he find the usb uart.
Because I start to send the file an the spf are going wrong but the file didn’t send. Always start to sending.
All led are blinking and now is nothing works.
I don’t now what is going wrong…
See the picture..
In the Firmware now are written 008 00 3.16
Before the firmware was 067.

i tested the other one 067 01 but it is the same.. isp tool start sending an then goes the inverter to alarm..

did you read through the flash instructions provided with the firmwarefiles and how do you power the inverters while flashing?

ok if you checked everything else then it must be the driver or your windows pc. maybe try to use another laptop...

HVALA MOJSTRI... ????Pozdrav iz Slovenije

yes I have read through. didn't do anything else.
power was supplied by the battery.
Looked like your com board requires CP210x, and you said it did not work. Then as what “kirkdis” had stated, perhaps you need to change your laptop/computer too. For identification of com board and applicable usb driver, please see:

If you browse the above website, you may even see the appropriate procedure and required files for your update.

Moin aus Oldenburg,
könnte mal jemand einen kompletten Anschlussplan zur Einbindung in das Hausnetz einstellen? Das wäre super! (mit Absicherung, Fi, u.s.w.)

hi, i did start a new thread, but thought i will drop the question here as well just in case some one here found an answer
i have two machines one is a [067 01 1.04 / 068 01 1.04] and i was able to do a firmware update successfully to [067 F4 A27 / 068 F4 A27]
the second machine however [113 00 9.07 /114 00 9.07] could be a problem. has anyone found an update that will fix the fan noise issue?

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for you and this forum I also successfully upgraded my crazy fan 5000ES :)
It works fine, but now I found a change in settings which is for me a bit frustrating.

The settings 12 and 13 were settable as voltage level of battery.
In the new FW these changed for percentage (%).

This would be ok, but previously I could the back to utility set till 46V (48V batt), which is low enough to set the battery cut off so low how I wanted.
In the new firmware the minimum percentage is 25%, which is to be honest a bit high for me. I would set it to 20, might 15 not decided yet.

Is it possible somehow?
Anyone faced the same problem?

Thank you!
Ferenc

hi everyone

I am having similar but different issue,

set up is 4 SPF5000ES inverters running on 3 phase with 6 48v 200ah battery's 2 inverters are running on p1 the other 2 are on p2 and p3
in sbu mode inverters work fine until the battery's get to 50 keep getting a 04/ low voltage error and keeps charging battery when set to Solor only then trying to drain from battery's is similar if not same issue as kirkdis seen his YouTube video (# kirkdis couple of views where mine lol)

how ever when check the voltage of battery all 6 are near 50% mark and have more that enough power to keep feeding loads here is some pics of issue as can see the inverter all over sudden thinks the battery's are at 1% then shoot up to 47 and get stuck in that loop and have to change it

this is set up as a solar/grid
settings
01-SBU
05-LI- 36-Protocol-51
12- 20%
13-60%

can we have a look at the settings you guys used
01, 05, 12, 13, 19, 20, 21 and 36
are you running an off-grid, grid backup or solar/grid setup

he used a macbook and emulated windows. I told him to change to native windows and he got it somehow managed to flash the firmware.
