Correction This IS addictive. I started with a smal harbor freight and now have 4 diy batteries, 4 growatts, 4 load centers and the whole house
connected to it. Pacific Graft and Extortion does not get any of my money. The hybrid electric water heater does a great job of lowering the
gas...
I posted the screen shot of 2 different batteries ( one is a 90 amp hour and the other is a 180 amp hour) and they have running together paralleled now for 4 months in home solar setup. The loads and charges vary. When they are first connect they should be close in charge but little off is fine...
i use a simple relay on the output of my epever charge controller. when battery volt drops too low the SCC turns off the load which deenergizes the relay which kills power to low currant devices and removes the on signal for the large inverter.
The BMS's are 8S 100 Amp from Overkill solar. He is great out of Florida.
Great warranty great service. He will customize the ends the way you want it.
I got 2 8 AWG cable on both inputs and output that were 2 feet. It save another
connection and hassle.
Why not 2 or 4 batteries with own bms for redundancy and maintenance.
I have 3 24 volt batteries in parallel and can take any off line to balance or other and
not take down the system.
I have a rheem heat pump water heater for a year now. There are 2 of us in the house.
I have a bunch of solar panels up 7kw worth. Our normal use is between 700 watt hours and 2.5 kilowatt hours
for the power reported from the device as it is on wifi.
It has a high demand mode for fast...
Use a DC to DC converter to get 13.8
I have a 24 volt system and use one from Daygreen converter that is 97% efficient or so.
To use a power supply running from an inverter is about 60% at best.
So 100 watts in makes about 60 watts usable the rest is heat.
3s2p on the 200 watt and 2s2p on the 250 watts sounds good
As long the series voltage is close you use them and not lose much power
I have some 75 and 100 watt panel on the same series string no real issue
i also have a 72 cell in parallel with 60 cell. It is not perfect but loses a little...
I have 24 volt versions on the wall and they are working great. Solar assistant does a great job of adding the missing pieces that
is not in the cloud or on them. I am now running a 3 ton AC off grid with the rest of the house.
I user solar assistant to talk to 4 growatts and 4 JBD BMSs.
It works great. Need a usb connection from each device. It keeps track of everything.
It also exports real time to Home assistant.
It should not be a problem as I have a 180 amp hour lipo and a 280 amp hr connected for about a year now.
The difference in resistance in batteries causes them to pull different currants.
Even connecting them at different states of charge is fine. There is a surge currant at first them goes down.
yes that would be 430 AH as parallel adds amps and watt hours
I think four is the max in series. eight total all facing south for 12 with some South East and some South West (nothern Hem)
You would need to measure your open circuit voltage with four in series.
I am running 3 24 volts panels and...
This not an issue for LiPo4 at all.
You can run any combo. I have a 180 amp hr and 2 280 amp hr batteries connected in parallel for years and they work great.
Aging is not a problem with lipo4 is they just discharge quicker reach low voltage shutoff before the other ones.
At very high loads one...
I am running a 90 ah and 180 ah packs in parallel with their own BMS. They seam to work perfect together. Each pulls or provides the amount of power is capable of.
My large pack pulls about 2/3 of the currant and the small about 1/3.
If the packs are out of balance then the lower pulls more if...
1. 6 panels would let you have one string one direction and the other string a different if that were an issue
2. If a panel fails is it cheaper to replace one 100 watt than a 210.
I have the same charge controller. It is great. It can handle 400 watts max on 12 volts and be pass through. It can be
over paneled to where is limits the currant to 400 watts but for a longer time. max solar voltage is around 50 volts.
There is also a logging device that will allow a computer...
I have 4 3000w growatts in parallel make 12000 watts at 240 volts.
They are grid tied only for pulling power from the grid for winter.
They can be set to behave in a number of different ways.
I have mine set to sbu meaning Solar, Battery, then Grid.
Mine switches each day in the winter twice...
I did the mod to my inverter for shut off. I use the relay on an epever charge controller for low voltage disconnect.
The relay in the CC goes to a relay with high power contacts for some loads and the remote power switch.
I have a simple switch to turn on the inverter with it.
One thing to measure would using a volt meter between the stud top and the bus bar on the same cell.
I have found a few problem that was as there was a decent size (50 mv) there and should be only 4 or 5.
You are using 900 kw hours in May and 700 kw hours in June
How are you reading the graph ?
I use about 35 kw hours a day about during summer and about 25 kw hours a day during spring and fall
I have solar and home assistant and they work great.
Solar assistant talks to my batteries for state of charge and can make decisions when to go to grid and back.
Using voltage sucks as a big load will temporally lower voltage when bounces back when the big load is gone
but the inverter will...
I have 4 3000 watt 24 growatts with jbd bms's and it works great.
I can control everything in the inverters and control them. It can also read the batteries hi low and average cell volts.
I love the feature to switch to grid mode at a certain percentage instead of voltage.
I also use is to...
A normal credit card. They are in the house as LPO are safe with no outgassing.
I have a set of 280 AMP hours coming ordered in Dec from the same vender.
Solar assistant works with 4 jbd BMSs each with it own usb to uart
I have 4 batteries and 2 growatts connect to my solar assistant each with own connection to the PI
It is working great. I used a power usb hub to connect more that 4 connects the PI has.
At that state of charge is only takes a few amp hours.
try using a resistor to lower the high cell to the same as others or if one is low use
a lap power supply to bring it up the others
When above 3.4 volts very small changes in charges make a large difference in voltage.
At 3.5 volts it is...
