just a suggestion, whether you can get this stuff in your country or not im unsure... but all pcb's " outside " get a coating of this... yet to have a failure from water or bugs... and where I live, there is plenty of both... https://www.jaycar.com.au/circuit-board-lacquer-spray-can/p/NA1002

    i went the diy route, built using the eg8010 chip as basis , this was the board I settled on AU $259.18 8%OFF | 24V 5600W 36V 8600W 48V 12000W 60V 72V 96V 19000W Foot Power Pure Sine Wave Power Frequency Inverter Circuit Board A Main Board https://a.aliexpress.com/_m0fVPcg , with a...

  • Post in thread: Hot Weather affect on Lead Acid Batteries

I live in north Queensland Australia, rarly gets below 20°c , during summer it regularly sits at 40°c ... my batteries have happily lived in it for over 5 years with no noticeable drop in capacity ... they are ex forklift lead acid ( 660ah) .. I think the important thing is watering and...
  • Post in thread: Electric Companies slowly taking back control

the problem with all you wrote, as much as its true, is the system has been around for decades, they still making Billions off of 60 year old lines in most areas... the " fees " for say " meter charge " as example is a archaic charge from when meter readers used to come out, yet in most areas...
  • Post in thread: Electric Companies slowly taking back control

its already here in Australia, we pay on average 25 cents a kwh ( varies place to place) and only get on average 6c kwh feed in... it sucks big time
  • Post in thread: Electric Companies slowly taking back control

um... you do understand these entities make BILLIONS each year right, reiterate, BILLIONS... lol , its not about " fair " its about how much we can make before people start whinging... lol, fairness ...
  • Post in thread: Electric Companies slowly taking back control

https://levivray.com/ it can be done, even with " multiple buildings " and " complicated setups" , I've worked with leslie for years, top bloke and very helpful... I only dream of getting close to his setup, getting there, but as " green " as they come...

  • Post in thread: Electric Companies slowly taking back control

as i do agree with you about the " softening " of the general population, please keep in mind that here in north Queensland it regularly gets over 40°c and high humidity ( 80% +) ( just put into prospective we broke records 1 year for getting into single digits temp wise during winter, its...
  • Post in thread: Electric Companies slowly taking back control

ok, Ill clarify what I mean and why I have no faith in any of those supposed " facts ", I have nothing against a company making a FAIR profit.. however just as a example, you know those glossy environmental brochures that big energy companies put out, beautiful pics of the bush with clean...
  • Post in thread: Custom Power Jack inverters

https://www.anotherpower.com/board/index.php?topic=902.0 A good read if yoh have time on the PJ's, they actually are a good inverter for the price, just there QC absolutely sucks, random extra bits, loose connections etc. Most of these blokes who did the write up on them have gone to the...
  • Post in thread: High frequency versus low inverters

no sure on your application, but 1 fundamental difference also is that LF inverters can be ac coupled and will charge your batteries with excess solar / wind power ... HF cannot... also as pointed out, LF surge ratings are pretty much what your battery system, input mosfets etc can handle, a...
  • Post in thread: Electric Companies slowly taking back control

I was referring specifically to Australia, but the attitudes are the same in most places... a ( admittedly modern) essential service, priced as high as they can without too much winging from the population...
  • Post in thread: Electric Companies slowly taking back control

why I decided to go off grid in the first place, got sick of the brownouts / blackouts during " peak " times and when inclement weather would shut it down for days and paying a premium for the privilege ... hell a car would hit a poll and shut down large sections of the town, from hours to...

  • Post in thread: Electric Companies slowly taking back control

problem is a LOT of the rest of Australia ( outside major city's, but not always) is still locked to only 1 supplier ( ergon ) and they basically charge what they feel... Townsville was a classic example, only 1 supplier, dismal feed in tariffs, high usage tariffs... no choice ... the poll...

  • Post in thread: FLA Battery Shortage---Next best alternative?

not sure in yanky land, but maybe try a forklift battery distributor... down here in Aus you can pick up a 2nd hand 48v 600ish ah pack for around 5 grand from a reputable dealer ... so 24v smaller packs would/could be available in your area..
  • Post in thread: Electric Companies slowly taking back control

distributor / generator , does it matter whether they are the big entities, or the bigger entities, they all profit from the same thing... lol, again, your welcome to believe they ran at a loss... I'm sure there is some angle they were playing at, you know the whole GM thing when holden was "...

  • Post in thread: Electric Companies slowly taking back control

honestly, im off grid ( been for many years) so makes little difference to me personally, however still doesn't make it right... the point i was trying to make is the they have been profiting off the system for decades, yet they STILL use current energy usage / supposed costs to justify there...

  • Post in thread: High battery volt inverter

advantage is the closer you are to the " grid " voltage, the more efficient it usually is, less conversion etc... that said, it becomes more dangerous... modern inverters are pretty efficient at safer voltages , eg 48v etc...
