Hi
Not sure where you are based but go onto eBay / Amazon / AltE and price the components and you will be surprised at how quickly it will mount up. You will need a MPPT that can handle a large array and an output at 48V ( my suggestion is 48v for many reasons) a battery charger that will charge...
Hi
I run a 1.5hp pump off my 48v system and the start up is over 2.5kW. Continuous is over 1.2kW. I highly doubt that one battery could handle that. Do the math and you will find that you will need nearly 200 amps for start up and about 100 amps continuous. To supply this you would need about...
All communications from Chargery seems to have died. Not getting any response from Jason in spite of many requests. Last comms was that the BMS8T was now available with Bluetooth for USD$80 - then silence. Anyone else has a response from Jason in the past 2 days?
Hi Pierre
Currently doing a capacity test and the BMS is keeping them well in line. Do you get your batteries via Alibaba. There are some great deals there. Some comprehensive threads on here about experiences with different sellers.
How is Cape Town doing under the lockdown! It is still my most...
Hi
Generally if I notice a difference in cells I join all in parallel and let them balance. Once they are balanced I connect them in series and connect the BMS etc then cycle them ( charge fully then discharge fully) a few times to get true capacity.
When you “turn off” the battery do you use...
Hi bigdunham - in short yes you can. There are options where you can select that the primary usage is the battery and solar and if that is not enough then use the grid. There is a model that will do all this and still allow you to feed back into the grid - if your location allows - for extra...
Hi
Just reading this mega thread about this exact subject. Highly recommended as ther is a lot of input from JK (Nami)
https://diysolarforum.com/threads/jk-4s-200a-bms.38623/page-1
Hi Everyone.
Thanks so much for the input. The issue with newbies like me is moving to conscious incompetence from unconscious incompetence. I definitely did not over think this for sure.
Will do lots more reading and watching.
PS I do have a MPPT and DCDC into my battery - was just a thread I...
Hi
This was from the AliExpress Daly shop. Shipping of each module $26.90. Interestingly the cost of shipping of the Bluetooth module was the same as the BMS itself - so in my view they are just margin stacking.

Hi
Interested in this thread as I am waiting for my 300aH ordered some time back. I went with Xuba (Selina) as I am finding Amy (Luyuan) very unreliable lately. Never has any stock and even when she says she has stocking you place an order then suddenly there is no stock. Also Xuba is offering...
Hi Pierre. All good mate - dodging CoVid still. This is on the new V2 app and it is a button on the app landing page after selecting the BMS. See 2nd screenshot.

Hi Mushin
Look at what your end system will be. At the moment the max charge you will get will be (800/48) so about 17amps. To get 80amps you will need a solar array of about 4kW. Will you ever go that big? As Craig said, it is just overkill.

Hi Mushin
It is always a good idea to over spec things. This way they run cooler and you get a longer life out of the . Heat is the deadly enemy of electronics, they help the magic smoke escape.

Hi
The ‘new’ App does cater for multiple BMS on one screen. It is V2 but not sure when it is being released. I was part of the Beta testing but have dropped out. If you are interested I can look up the GitHub link and post it here?
Hi GreenEyedMuse
It might be easier going down the road of a single integrated unit. Only downside is that you would need a weather proof enclosure (but you would probably need that anyway. Follow this link https://www.mobile-solarpower.com/all-in-one-solar-power-packages1.html

Hi - I would also recommend you drop a line to sales@mppsolar.com - they might have something in the wings
Otherwise just buy 4 cheap 12v batteries and set it up for solar as a priority and set the cut off voltage at the battery level. This way it would only use solar to power the load and as...
So what about having the 220V / 12V transformer on his property and the solar system / inverter / at your place. 4amps at 12 v will be minimal at your end. Just a thought.
Hi Pierre.
Tested OK while charging / discharging with IOS. Connected really really quickly. I currently have 3 of the BMS connected and stepped quickly between them. I did notice the lack of a cell delta but the developer seems really responsive so could put in a req via the GitHub.
I did like...
Hi
I ended up buying direct from the Daly store on AliBaba and paid US$30 for shipping and it arrived within 2 weeks. Still waiting for my batteries to arrive before I install it so will post here how it goes.

Hi
Yes, have had the BMS15 in my camper for the last 6 or 7 years. Bullet proof. A bit limiting on the solar input voltage but there are enough panels to cover that. The output is limited to 15amps.

Hi
Now we have chemistry that is delivering crazy lifecycle (LTO with 20000 cycles) what are everyone’s thoughts on adding capacity during the early to mid point of the battery lifecycle. Possible or not?
