  • Post in thread: Can you Parallel smart BMS??

Hi Actually they do have Bluetooth. I have ordered a 100A 4S separate port. Cost US$72 including shipping to Australia. The only reason they are not marketing it right now is that they do not have an app ready for it. However there is a "mini program" in WeChat that can be used to monitor and...
  • Post in thread: Failed MPP system

Hi - where would you get an MPP for $300? They are about $1200 for a decent one! Regards
  • Post in thread: No more paralleling JBD BMS allowed - what now?

Hi I did read the thread after posting here. Rookie mistake - should have read the threads first I guess. I think you were talking to the JK shop on AliExpress. I was talking to the JKBMS factory. They have confirmed that - with the addition of this parallel module - you can wire them in...
  • Post in thread: Failed MPP system

Hi - The MPP already has an auto switch over function built in. It will switch over to mains if the battery gets below a set point. You can also set it up to bypass to grid if the load is too great. There is a great write up on this on Wills blog. BTW his conclusion is that they are a great bit...

  • Post in thread: Failed MPP system

Hi That is for the Solar Charger Controller only - I was referring to the MPPSolar off grid system here.
  • Post in thread: DGJBD Bluetooth BMS - a short review

Hi Have not changed them at all, but then I have not been testing g at high amps. Still waiting for my 100a capacity tester then will run one cycle at as high as I can. I don’t think there will be any issues though. Regards
  • Post in thread: Where to purchase JBD BMS

Hi I See they now have a 200amp constant charge / discharge - https://www.lithiumbatterypcb.com/product/3s-12-6v-4s-16-8v-or-4s-14-6v-lifepo4-battery-bms-with-120a-to-200a-constant-discharge-current-for-12v-converter-power-ups/?attribute_specification-selection=4S+Lifepo4+200A Regards
  • Post in thread: Failed MPP system

Hi Read this blog post here. Might help a bit. https://www.mobile-solarpower.com/all-in-one-solar-power-packages1.html
  • Post in thread: Failed MPP system

Hi You can buy directly from MPPSolar. They sell on a number of platforms and they are shipped directly from the factory in Taiwan.
  • Post in thread: 8S instead of a 4S?

Hi Found these on AliBaba - look identical and are available. They will sell single units as well Regards
  • Post in thread: Failed MPP system

Hi The problem here (as in lots of posts) is posting just to bash a product without attempting to solve the problem. You have also jumped on the band wagon - along with a lot of other posters - without actually showing any knowledge of the product itself. Has it been setup correctly ( I don’t...
  • Post in thread: Just Place new Order on Alibaba- 280AH x 8 for 1260.00 USD Delivered, Grade A to Canada

Hi Just a suggestion but do a video of the capacity testing and the internal resistance testing as AliBaba seem to place far more trust in a video than pictures. I just had a whole box %50 pieces) of LiFePO4 18650 replaced because they were under capacity. There was much baulking until I posted...
  • Post in thread: Renogy DC DC Charger w/ MPPT

Hi Grounding a system to the chassis is common terminology. No where would you ever expect to equate grounding in a vehicle to that of earth grounding, as in earth spike. To quote the manual “Connect to Ground / Chassis” and in that reply I was, indeed, referring to the manual. Regards
  • Post in thread: DGJBD Bluetooth BMS - a short review

Hi I had a few of these BMS on test and I found that one stopped working. Blue light was on but no connection. The app did not even recognise it. I unplugged the Bluetooth module and plugged in a spare one and all was ok. I plugged the failed one into another BMS and it worked fine. Had some...
  • Post in thread: Blue Tooth BMS module

Hi Everybody I am going down the road of building some LiFePO4 battery packs for my off road camper. The space I have to install is pretty limited so will not be easily accessible. For this reason I am looking for a Bluetooth enabled BMS (preferably Daly as that is the recommended one here) Does...
  • Post in thread: LTO as prismatic cell, haven't seen that before?

Hi These might be a better price point. However I think you will find using the cylindrical cells more cost effective. The BLS Store seems to be one of the top notch stores as well , in my view http://s.aliexpress.com/meqUrU3E regards
  • Post in thread: Couldn't help myself but come on the form big fan of will prowse I cannot believe what just happened with the batteries he was opening up

As a As a starter battery yes agree, but a a 2nd battery for everything lead acid does not last. Not made for long term cycling
  • Post in thread: Renogy DC DC Charger w/ MPPT

    Hmmmm OK.
  • Post in thread: Renogy DC DC Charger w/ MPPT

Hi If you measured the voltage you would see it decrease as the battery charged. Old type alternators maintain a constant voltage irrespective of battery charge. It should also state it in the manual. Regards
  • Post in thread: Chargery BMS now with Low Temp Cutoff

The Chargery? If so has a switch for internal / external power.
  • Post in thread: 48v 400ah battery bank for off grid

G'Day Fred. Going down a similiar path but replacing AGM with LiFePO4. Regarding the BMS - if you look at the Daly BMS they have high current seperate input / output models. This link is for a 48V 200A seperate input / output for LiFePO4 cells. Hope this helps...
  • Post in thread: Chargery BMS now with Low Temp Cutoff

What are you buying / trying to buy?
  • Post in thread: I want to power my 1 HP well pump that is U.S. 240v split phase from a small solar system.

Hi Savage. I have a similiar challenge where my well is about 15m deep and I pump into a header tank about 3 metres off the ground. I built a small solar system (1.2kw solar panel / 6kw storage and 3kw off grid inverter) This lasts about 4 hours of full time pumping. I have now installed a 24V...
  • Post in thread: Can you Parallel smart BMS??

Hi They also have a guaranteed shipping time so if it is not sent within that time you automatically get your money back. There is also a glitch in the system though because the 152aH LiFePO4s I ordered arrived before AliExpress had them as shipped. Regards
  • Post in thread: Securing JDB Bluetooth

Hi Horsefly You are correct, apologies. When I first set up a battery (some years ago) I noticed the name was not written to the BMS. Regards Richard
  • Post in thread: Can you Parallel smart BMS??

Hi Have you looked at the Daly BMS? They have very high capacity amperage (charge is always lower than discharge) This is a 16S 48V 200A Seperate Port https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32888385718.html?spm=2114.12010612.8148356.2.772037fe3BaQPd Regards
  • Post in thread: LTO cells on Batteryhookup.com

The challenge is in finding a LTO compatible BMS that does 6S. I have only found 5S. You would need to edit the charge volts as well because a fully charged LTO in 6S is 15.6v and LTO in 5S is 13v. This is generally enough for most 12v systems though.
  • Post in thread: LTO cells on Batteryhookup.com

From which dealer and what brand. I am looking at YinLong at the moment.
  • Post in thread: New JBD BMS compatible Bluetooth App

Hi I have recently found a new app on the Apple store that works great with the JBD BMS and has a (in my view) much cleaner display. Has all the functionality of the Xiaoxiang with regard to Read / Write just much cleaner. The app is called (very imaginatively) Smart BMS Utility and costs just...
