On Google Play, Carplounge BMS allows full access: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.carplounge.bms Additionally, Liontron Multi: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.liontron.liontronmulti is useful if you have multiple JBD BMS batteries. It's view only but It...
  • Post in thread: Xiaoxiang BMS app/software update from wnsnty.xyz????

I've found several apps on Google Play that work with my 150A JBD BMS boards. For viewing only, there's Polinovel 2.0 (1.0.12), Liontron 1.2.2, Liontron 3.1.004, Solmax 3.1.002 and xiaoxiang BMS 3.1.1014. For full access to settings there's Carplounge BMS 3.1.1015 that was released last...
  • Post in thread: Questions about Xiaoxiang App

FUNCTION SETTING -> RESET CAPACITY is useful if remaining capacity reported has drifted to the point of being inaccurate. This can happen with very low current being missed, measuring accuracy cumulative errors, calibration errors, repeated partial state of charge cycling etc. The App lets you...
  • Post in thread: JBD 150A "Smart" BMS

ShawnBest Store https://www.aliexpress.com/store/910438187 seems to have the newest JBD 150A BMS boards and accesories. They have V1.7 boards now, maybe make sure to request that if you want it. They also have the optional LCD display and the new green color JBD Bluetooth modules that have...
  • Post in thread: XiaoXiang BMS Spontaneously resets Remaining Capacity display

Voltage is stable at around 24hrs after a discharge so I think the that if the 80/60/40/20 voltage set points are accurate then SOC will be accurate. Voltage, current & perhaps temperature settings would all have to accurate also. In the Xiaoxiang App I used - FUNCTION SETTING -> RESET...
  • Post in thread: Testing JBD 150a V1.5...Low Temp Cut-Off Issues..HELP!!

I think you need actual charging to be present for the low temp protection to kick in. Same for discharge low temp protection. I did with my V1.3 boards. The heater connections are still a mystery as far as I know. I wouldn't change the order of the wires until more is known.
  • Post in thread: Current calibration on Overkill/JBD/similar smart BMS

Use FUNCTION SETTING -> RESET CAPACITY to bring it back inline with your 20/40/60/80% voltage set point choices after periods of no use or low current use. Your 20/40/60/80% set points need to be accurate though or your reported SOC might be way off. Mine are confirmed resting voltages after...
  • Post in thread: XiaoXiang BMS Spontaneously resets Remaining Capacity display

Yes, that's exactly it. It does take time but I don't know how else it could be accomplished with a high level of accuracy. Copying someones settings might be close enough if the LFP cells are similar age, type & quality. With the exact test load known then it's easy to estimate when each...
  • Post in thread: XiaoXiang BMS Spontaneously resets Remaining Capacity display

With cylindrical cells, I'm using: Full: 3.45V 80%: 3.332V 60%: 3.293V 40%: 3.29V 20%: 3.24V Prismatic cells might be like this. Some adjusting probably required. 80% 3.337 60% 3.302 40% 3.295 20% 3.251 Maybe those who have done actual discharge testing could post their results.
  • Post in thread: XiaoXiang BMS Spontaneously resets Remaining Capacity display

Exactly. That's an excellent description of what it does. It's both automatic and also can be initialized manually using Reset Capacity in the app. For anyone struggling with inaccurate results, make sure to go through all the setup steps. Setting up a JBD BMS is neccesary. - Check...
  • Post in thread: JBD 150A "Smart" BMS

For my V1.3 boards, I concluded that the 5 pin connector (BC0, BC1, BC2, BC3 & BC4) is intended for pre-production testing and programming. For operation, B-, B1, B2, B3 & B+ accomplishes all that the 5 pin connection does and avoids load current being carried on the tiny BC0 wire. Here's a...
  • Post in thread: What do the pinouts on my BMS's do?

    On the JBD-sp04s005, B1, B2 & B3 are balance wire connections. 3.2V, 6.4V & 9.6V, ( B- 0V & B+ 12.8V ) H+ & H- are heater connections. Not sure that anyone has figured out how to use the heater connections yet.
  • Post in thread: XiaoXiang BMS Spontaneously resets Remaining Capacity display

I did the test once and it was two years ago so I don't remember that much about it. I did record this: 13.331V 90% SOC 13.327V 80% SOC 13.325V 70% SOC (after 24 hrs rest) 13.174V 60% SOC (after 24 hrs rest) 13.164V 50% SOC (after 24 hrs rest) 13.160V 40% SOC (after 23 hrs rest) 13.102V 30%...
  • Post in thread: Xiaoxiang BMS app/software update from wnsnty.xyz????

The zipped file is older and got flagged as possibly having a virus by Windows Security last time I tried to download it. http://www.jiabaida.com/xiaoxiang.apk is a direct link to xiaoxiang 3.1.1026.27.apk
  • Post in thread: Help interpret my BMS screen

The SOC estimation has been describe as Method 1 - Voltage based and Method 2 - Coulomb Counting here: https://diysolarforum.com/threads/jbd-overkill-bms-state-of-charge.28329/ Changing settings or using the Reset Capacity option forces the SOC estimate to be based on your 20/40/60/80% voltage...
  • Post in thread: Xiaoxiang BMS app/software update from wnsnty.xyz????

The app gets the name from what's entered in the Manufacturer field under Parameter View on first use of the app. It becomes persistent for some reason and later changes don't take affect in 3.1.1026 unless you delete and reinstall the app. It will use the new name on first use of the...
  • Post in thread: XiaoXiang BMS Spontaneously resets Remaining Capacity display

Not everyone will have accurate enough equipment for precise calibration. As to current, everyone can at least make sure that idle current is set to zero when there are no charge or discharge loads.
  • Post in thread: JBD/Xiaoxiang BMS Apps List

The downloads direct from jiabaida.com have been updated to 2.0 in English - It's now Android version 3.2.000.30 updated from Android version 3.1.1026.27. It's not on Google Play however. It's shown here connected to a small 18Ah battery pack I have. It doesn't look like you can change...
  • Post in thread: JBD-SP04S020 120A BMS Charge and Discharge Currents Inaccurate

Good info. It may affect others also so it's a value they can check. Under Parameter View, the Android app lets you change the "Galvanometer resistance" mR value which is further described as current sense resistance.
  • Post in thread: JBD 150A "Smart" BMS

Great info, that explains the heater connection wiring. Hopefully we'll find out the specific temperature trigger and heat pad wattage etc.
  • Post in thread: JBD/Xiaoxiang BMS Apps List

There are many app that work with JBD BMS units. All apps in this screenshot came from Google Play (except for xiaoxiang 3.1.1026 & XiaoXiang 3.2.000). Carplounge is still my favorite for full access. I also use Liontron Multi, BelyEnergy & Aollithium.
  • Post in thread: Questions about Xiaoxiang App

Your JDB 150A BMS is newer than mine (v1.3). Yours has the heating function so must be V1.5 or newer & settings would be different if the BMS has also other different components. I mentioned 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%,Full, Undervoltage & Pack undervoltage as things I'd adjust. Also, maybe take a look...
  • Post in thread: testing new bms - no cells yet!

I made a small 12V battery using 8 series connected 1.5V AA alkaline batteries and connected the balance wires to the corresponding voltage points: ground, 3V, 6V, 9V & 12V and was able to do some testing and use the various apps etc. while waiting cells to arrive.
  • Post in thread: Xiaoxiang BMS app capacity launched to full capacity without single watt going in

Use FUNCTION SETTING -> RESET CAPACITY to bring it back inline with your 20/40/60/80% voltage set point choices. With Single cut-off voltage set to 3V you can discharge down to 12V (3V*4 cells in series = 12V).
  • Post in thread: JBD 150A "Smart" BMS

I really didn't like that load current was being carried on that tiny BC0 wire. It's in parallel with the larger gauge wires in the final installation but I'd assume it messes with the SOC measuring accuracy as it bypasses the shunts. I have V1.3 boards so I don't know if it is the same for...
  • Post in thread: JBD 150A "Smart" BMS

There are more than 5 versions of the large 150A BMS with the B+ pad out there. The two connection points you have appear to have shown up on V1.5 boards. I've seen what you describe in photos of V1.5 boards. Mine are V1.3 and don't have those. V1.7 boards have additional changes. I think...
  • Post in thread: Questions about Xiaoxiang App

Reset Capacity uses the 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% voltage set points. Those entries have to be accurate for it to work well. On mine, it's 0.092VPC difference to cover that entire range! I chose to use resting voltages for the 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% set points. I use Reset Capacity only when the battery...
  • Post in thread: Questions about Xiaoxiang App

Maybe try 3.1.1015 from Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.carplounge.bms
  • Post in thread: JBD BMS X 3 - will I need 3 apps?

For the full access JBD xiaoxiang based apps on Android (including Carplounge on Google Play), go to App Setting and enter a unique name in the Device Model field for each BMS. It's easier that way to choose which one you want to connect to. For multiple simultaneously BT polling...
  • Post in thread: Xiaoxiang "Pairing rejected" Android Galaxy S7/Overkill BMS

3.1.1015 should work. Do not try to pair it. Use the Xiaoxiang app to make the connection.
