Hi All,

I am looking to buy 16 304ah A grade (yeah, I know) cells and am wanting the latest information/ advice/ suggestions from the group. I am looking at 18650 Battery Store, Shenzhen Luyuan Technology, and SunFunKits. Any sharing of knowledge and experience will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Randy

Many of us have purchased from at least one of the three if not all three on your list.

I’ve personally had great experience with 18650 but I know others have used the other 2 as well

Imrbatteries and ezealco are also reputable.
Gobel power is gaining traction and they currently have Battero 280ah cells for 89/cell shipped with US inventory. The battero cells are made by REPT

Thanks for the reassurance on 18650. I have been sort of leaning their way. I will also check out the other 2 you suggested. The battery prices are similar but the shipping varies quite a bit. Just hoping to get some QUALITY cells.

Are you talking about this for $55? https://www.gobelpower.com/battero-tech-32v-280ah-lifepo4-cells_p121.html#0

Yes. @42OhmsPA ordered some.
The 55/cell overseas stock came out to roughly $76/cell shipped in my quote. I believe their US inventory for them is $89/cell shipped
Oh, same, I was quoted USD76 too for 16 cells of BatteroTech including shipping DDP, warehouse from China........I am planning to buy from Gobel if Seplos failed to deliver on time.....another 9 days to go........

edit: I asked sales about the difference between EVE Grade A and BatteroTech, here was the reply:

Yes, BT just ESS Grade, that is mean voltage, IR. not matched capacity, and this cell has 5 years warranty. EVE 280AH, the real capcacity is over 305ah, and has 10 years warranty.

I ordered 16 304's from Ezealco in late 2023. They shipped with Fedex ground, 2 per box, well packaged, included cell separators and solid bus bars.

I am happy with the quality, they were pretty evenly charged, fresh stock less than 6 months since manufacture I think. Only downside would be they have the little single studs.

Luyuan is where I just purchased 96 cells. $78 each plus shipping for her Grade A matched and tested. Given my past experience with her Grade A, these will not have a problem.

I did purchase some Grade B 304Ah from 18650, one cell is always slightly lower than the rest. You can top balance the pack but that one cell over time drifts to the low side once in use.

As long as the drift can be corrected using active balancer.
Unfortunately, one gonna need an inverter that doesn't simply shut off charging whenever 100% signal is received like Growatt when BMS Li communication is utilized.

Update: So, I am asking for GobelPower to match the IR, Voltage and Capacity......But I got the reply:

I am so sorry that BT 280ah cell just is ESS Grade, so it is just matched IR and voltage, not matched capacity.

Currently asking if I can get at least 270Ah to 280Ah out of those cells........

Purchased 64pcs of the Eve304 grade 'b' cells from 18650 last year. One cell was a dud out of the box. Another cell refuses to charge beyond 3.3xv., and while the JK active bms is able to keep fairly decent control of the first batch of 32 cells, the second batch of 32 are all over the place.

I am getting the feeling all these sellers are pulling bait and switch..........

Just my $.02, but for the most part I feel the retailers are at the mercy of their wholesaler, who may be the ones pulling the fast one. Although my last transaction with 18650 was not the best, there should be 4pcs of Eve grade 'a' 304ah cells coming in today to replace some of the lowlier cells and they are from ... 18650. Why a repeat customer when the last transaction was not the greatest? My bank does not like doing business with China and wanted me to jump through hoops to order from Jenny Wu, or Ezeal.

Anyone considering sunfunkits might want to look up ray builds cool stuff.
