Victron MPPT over panelling

420W x 6 / 58V charging = 43A

Looks good here.

Thanks. This is all new to me so good to check if I am on the right path.

My understanding of overpaneling is case #1 where you have more input capacity than output ability but are still within the scc voltage and current limits.

The manual of 150/35 and 150/45 is a bit confusing as it says that 48 V battery with 150 V solar charger has the minimum number of cells in series 144 and maximum (of what?) is 216 cells, just thought the panel configuration in my last post would exceed the maximum. There is probably something I don't understand, yet.

It's not much of an upcharge to go from 150/35s to 150/45s. The 150/60 is a physically larger unit if that matters.

The price difference between 150/35 and 150/45 may be less than 50 euros so the bigger of these two would be my choice. The 150/60 is about twice the price of 150/35, but apparently one 150/60 could handle 9 panels (3 strings 3 series) and only two 150/60 would be needed instead of three in case of 150/35 or 150/45. Not sure, but three MPPTs could be better for shady mornings.

I like the flexibility and redundancy of multiple controllers and strings. Gives you a lot more options. I'm running two 150/35s really pleased with their performance, will prob get a third at some point but need more panels first.
