Hi
I have to fill out this Solar array label to finish off my off grid setup.

Solar arry label.jpg

My panels specs are

panel specs.JPG

So for my array of 16 panels my label should read....

Open circuit Voltage = 37.2 x 16 = 595.2 V
Short Circuit Current = 13.6 x 16 = 217.6 A

Correct?
Thanks
Richard

Assuming the panels are all in series, yes for the voltage, but the Isc would only be 13.6A.

However an array Voc of 595.2V is mighty high..... do you have them all in series? If so, what is the max PV voltage of your controller?
There are not many controllers used by us DIYers that would handle that in a cold weather situation. Even cool weather could be a problem.

Please let us know about the arrangement of the panels and the charge controllers you are using.

Hi
I have two strings of 8 panels.
So Open circuit Voltage = 37.2 x 8 = 297.6 for the 8 panels.

But that label doesn't seem to ask for how much each MPPT has.

Unlike this Shutdown Label that I also have to fill out.

Shutdown Label.jpg

So Open circuit Voltage = 37.2 x 8 = 297.6 per MPPT on shutdown label

But Open circuit Voltage = 37.2 x 16 = 595.2 V on Red Label.

Short Circuit Current = 13.6 for both labels.

Did I get it right this time ? :)
Thanks
Richard

The voltages add when in series and the current adds when in parallel.
With 8 in series, the Array Voc is 37.2 x 8 = 297.6V

However, with 2 MPPTs, the strings are not in parallel, there are two separate Arrays. The Isc of each array is 13.6A.

On the white label, both MPPTs have Voc of 297.6 and Isc of 13.6A.

The red label is a bit confusing. With no other instructions, I would say the Max Voc of the system is 297.6V and the Max Isc of the system is 13.6A.

Where are these labels coming from? Who is requiring them?
