Hi guys

I have been using a seplos v2 BMS for my battery pack and it’s hooked up to a Growatt SPH 6000, I haven’t had much fun with this BMS as its far from a refined product but i was told that it’s the only one that can communicate with growatt using CAN communication.

So the big question i have is if there’s anyone who has managed to use any other BMS with this series of growatt inverter. I had asked JK if their newest BMS works with growatt CAN and they said yes but i havent found anyone else using one.

Maybe this series of inverter is not as common as some of growatts other inverters but im grid tied so i have limited options.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have you flashed the firmware of your Seplos unit to be compatible with the SPH series so that can comms works ok?

The Growatt should have a list of compatible batteries, if Pylontech is one then set the Growatt and the BMS both to Pylontech.

No i haven’t flashed it, i got the 10E version back in august so I believed that it would be up to date unless as you say theres a new firmware for working with growatt sph. If you know where i can find the firmware update id appreciate it :)

Does it currently communicate with the inverter via the PCS port ok? if so it has already been flashed.

I am able to connect the BMS to the inverter and it changed the SOC on the inverter if i was to change it artificially on the bms by changing the soc value from 280 to 290 etc so i would have thought that it is communicating but I’ve had it when the BMS just doesn’t work properly, the list of issues is endless but im hoping firmware could be part of the problem as it’s an easy fix.

I do have the firmware specific for the SPH series and Seplos BMS if you want it, i will add that you do so at your own risk flashing the firmware, I have used it a few times on systems for friends with DIY batteries and they are working perfectly for some time now.

Sure i will try it. Btw the picture shows the software version and also shows CAN:Growatt_SPF_SPH so im unsure if that means this is communicating because it said on the seplos website that you need to contact support for the correct firmware for SPH.

Im happy to try the firmware you have to fix the issue, if it doesnt work and bricks the BMS im not too bothered but if it works then its problem solved :)

Even if the BMS is communicating now id say the main issue im having is with the settings, at least on the 10E the settings and function switches are named differently and some of them i dont understand at all. Andy did videos on all of this stuff and ive checked his posted resources on google drive but its all stuff that is only on the V1 but doesnt show or explain the function switches on the V2.
