EG4 to Victron Cerbo over RS485?

I have a V2 EG4 12v 400ah battery. The manual and front panel show RS485 ports on the front. Can I connect that to the Cerbo GX to get Battery monitor information into my VRM?

All of the tutorials online are using their 24v and 48v version that have a CAN BUS port.
You will first need to find out what BMS the battery uses, and whether it will do comms on the RS485 port. Then, the following driver needs to be added to the Cerbo, if the BMS is supported (see the list therein):

Requires some Linux skill, but someone here may be able to help.

Also requires a proper cable. I think SS may have one. You will need to ask about that too. Once you know what brand, we'll have a better idea if it will work.

Thanks I’ll dive into this @cdsolar
I think you are in luck. Looks like dbus-serialbattery explicitly supports your older EG4 Lifepower:

As this driver is 1.5 years old, there is a reasonable chance it will work with your older battery, but no guarantees.

Here is discussion about it in this forum:

Now you just need the right cable, or build one. Ask Signature Solar.

It appears to be a Narada BMS.

Here is a cable that may work. You'd also need an adapter to take the usb-c of this cable to the Cerbo.

Again, no guarantees, but I have said cable to monitor my EG4 LLv2 48v battery. If they didn't change the pinouts, then this will probably work.
