Victron is Over-priced Eurotrash. Why would anybody buy Victron over an AiO?

Oh, Victron is an official vendor on Amazon and this is the only exception, that you can get direct support from them.
Apparently not, they sent me in circles to folks that did not even sell the product I was having the issue with. (Auto Transformer). I also don't think a 7v spread between the L1-N and L2-N is ideal, so . . .

You forget one thing:
Victron has official reseller and certified installer (I am both in Estonia) and we went trough a huge set of training to get there.
We, as reseller and installer are responsable to the customers.

People want to buy always a cheap as possible and buy stuff wherever they can get it cheap and then complain, that they do not get any adequate support.

95% of the online shops including Amazon are not qualified to support their customers at all.

I've never tried it, so if you buy Victron sold by "Brand Centric" or "XYZ"but shipped by Amazon, which I don't think has any Victron specialists, you can then work directly with Victron?

Apparently they bias it a little it so it's more balanced with regular load on L1 or something like that.

It began life as an isolation transformer. For those, you make the output a few percent high no-load, and under full load output is a few percent low.

Not sure, isolation may have been for safety on a boat or something?

Anyway, it got reconfigured as an asymmetric auto-transformer. Which might not be unreasonable when stepping 120V up to 120/240V split-phase, but is less than ideal going in the other direction.

What they should have done was specify one more tap from the windings as a revision, and they would have had a part for use in both applications.

Does it produce 120 + 3.5 = 123.5V on one leg, 120 - 3.5 = 116.5V on the other?
If so, it might trigger your OCD, but I don't think that is a problem for anything.

If you buy it from "Brand Centric" or "XYZ" then they are your partner.

However, if there is a problem with the reseller, you can contact Victron via a form on the Website and the fill the form and they will forward you to the Distributor in your country if ANY. Otherwise the my do exceptions if REALY neccesary.

They can easily track the serial numbers of your complained items and get the right distributor.

Ok, because all Victron items at least on Amazon US are sold by someone other than Amazon, tho often shipped by them.

When I was digging at the time, it was emphasized that the 2 units need to be produced relatively close together in serial numbers. Obviously firmware being the same revision was important but the hardware side I found interesting.
I never did determine the validity of that or the why. I wasn’t too concerned as it seemed like an easy enough work around but made me think that maybe there is something about the ease or not of parallel Victrons

Victron instructions say to match wire resistance precisely.
I think the firmware is designed to make output "stiff" not sagging in voltage with current.

Compare to Sunny Island, there is a parameter set by default to simulate resistance and let voltage droop, facilitating current sharing between units in parallel.

99% + of the Amazon purchasers won’t have a problem with their Victron device..
I just take my chances and so far everything has worked perfect…everyday, period…!

The only thing I ever had happen was with a dongle…they sent me a new one…in further discovery it wasn’t bad , it was my cord.. my fault….I offered to to return the replacement to the dealer at my cost ..
They said no , just keep it.. So I did.. now I have two … Victron and its dealers are good …

I wish everything I bought worked like the blue stuff.

EDIT…IT WASNT A DONGLE , IT WAS A MK3 Adaptor…my bad…

Oh most of my gear has been thru Amazon, I just make sure I select "Other sellers" and pick a reputable seller like Pike or Inverters R US just in case I did need support down the track.

I think there were two generations of Quattros, their processors are different (newer ones being more powerful). I'm not sure on when production was switched over. Victron models tend to be in production for many years or decades so shouldn't be too difficult finding an "old" unit to pair if needed.

The multiplus 2 has additional grid safety equipment which allows it to be grid approved in many countries, and also ESS compatible if local authority requires it. The Quattro 2s are the multiplus 2 with additional AC in. Problem is the bigger quattros 2s haven't been released.

I purchased a Deye 8K AiO system and regret not buying Victron. Deye support is about as useless as they could possibly be. It's almost like they are just screwing with you when they answer. You never get more than a 1 line response from them and the response never actually answers the question you've asked.

Q: Hello Deye support, what does "Reset XBar" mean in the menu?
A: You must recycle your inverter before using, do careful!! 他们还接受特殊课程并观察顾客盯着商品时的反应

"They also receive special classes and observe how customers react when they stare at the goods"

Uh, what "goods"?

I do that many times as there’s a lot of companies im familiar with ..But if not I always make sure it is sold / shipped ( or both) by Amazon Prime if possible , so that a return is a breeze… but only rarely ever have to return anything as I have strong JuJu….the Force is with me 🚀………J.
