Hi, No going for 3.3MW central inverter. And yes central inverters are better and convenient
It really depends on your layout; in the US string inverters are often used with single axis trackers for one row. Central inverters are going to have a lot of DC combiners and cabling at 1.5kV which can get unwieldy for maintenance.

For very large projects (>200MW) the central inverters are more easily justified.

Thankyou

Seems like the difference between "string" and "central" is whether it is "end-user" (string), or "utility scale" (central). They both take "strings" and convert to AC. But, if you build a solar farm near a high voltage DC power line, you could tap into that, and avoid the AC Conversion loss.

End-user inverters have functions and end-user would want (230v in India, battery, off-grid, etc.).

Utility scale is designed for one thing: Pump 800v power to the transmission line. Although, newer systems may add battery storage and other grid stabilizing features (look more like a spinning generator than intermittent power). I think they are looking into utility scale batteries to provide "black start" capabilities to restart a collapsed grid rather than equipment dedicated to providing black start capabilitiy.

Right tool for the right job.

Well, given that the previous request for exactly the same thing, with an undefined description of what was meant, was a school project, and given the that the OP seems to also have no idea about solar power systems, much less grid-scale, it felt like another class assignment. Either way, not the appropriate forum, though learning about the basics is the same.
