Missing Hithium QR Codes

Lol after seeing another post on the forum of someone buying from Jenny wu I had to take a look, so the wording is funny on the listing.

There's nothing about the batteries being new which they obviously can't be but it does state the qr codes are new even though technically they aren't qr codes and in fact are 2d barcodes(believe me there is a difference).
There's also a good few post here on the forums about docan tech which are mainly problems.

Think I might have to write to the Chinese Trade Minister Mr Wang Wentao pointing out how Docan are ruining the good name of Chinese industry 😜😜

I ordered 36 of the hithium 280 from Daisy eFest on docan that I just got this past week. Started testing them and first one was 295.5 and second was 298.3. Not sure why the qr matters at the price they were. They are below b cell prices but are testing above capacity. I'll count that as a win and plan on buying more when I need em.

I have just received my 16 x 280ah Hithium cells.

Checking the QR codes comes up with nothing. I tried three android app and the global power decoder.

I emailed mailed Jenny Wu from Docan and she replied that Hithium did not supply the codes.

Has anyone else experienced this, and is it normal.

Cheers
Manufacturer only apply the QR code after each cell is tested. Fake QR codes are an indication that the cell is B grade (failed factory tests) or the cells have been sat around for a long time and a fake QR has been added so the end user does not know the history of the cell. I used to buy grade B, most were good but the odd one was not. I only buy from the manufacturer now, but min order is 100 cells.

The average user isn't buying 100 cells at a time. There can be many reasons a cell doesn't get sold with the original qr codes on them. The ones I have tested have both been over what it was sold as. The cells I got were 61 each delivered.

The codes should show up as nothing as they've been re-lazered over with a new code. The people doing doing the re-lazering don't know what the proper values are to put when faking the codes so they blank out the fields with zeros. Thats why none of the apps come up with the proper info. Proper Hithium QR codes start with 0IJ as the first three characters as far as we can tell currently. I contribute most of the decoding info to the lifepoqr app.

This is pretty much the standard for all of the Hithium cells available on the market as they are all B grades disposed by the manufacturer. There are no A grades available on the market as Hithium wants minimum ~10-20MW for any orders.

Also why try to tell me they are A grade genuine never used Hithium cells when even the presentation is so different. I was assured Jenny Wu was trustworthy and honest. I am wondering about that now.

Yes they are grade b cells, but no cells come in that fancy printed wrap, that's just for marketing images. When you get cells from any brand they just come in the boring blue wrap.

There is only one reason cells get sold as brand new with a fake QR code, I'll let you figure that out 🤔

As I stated, I previously was buying B grade cells and most were Ok, capacity tests somewhere close but IR tests did vary a bit. I would think for light use as in solar and providing each cell goes through a charge/discharge cycle and IR test then your probably good to go. I don't have to go through this testing procedure with brand new cells from EVE as the factory has already done this for me. One other thing I noticed about some B cells, they arrived very slightly bloated, I don't now the reason for that BUT it did cause alarm bells to start ringing in my head.

I would definitely buy from Jenny Wu again. My cells are performing outstanding. Over a year of use and balance of 8 mv for 128 cells. No issues with swelling or underperforming cells. I am hoping that the cells continue to perform for the next 20 years.

I agree with the consensus that the only way to really tell is to test your cells and then put them to use. You got an excellent price on them.

And the images are bitmaps exported from a 3D CAD package.

One thing I found regards fake QR codes. I got 30 or so great power cells from some china wholesale outfit a couple of years back. The visible QR codes were fake, I peeled back the top black sticker and found the original QR code. I traced this and found the original code was for cells manufactured 2 years previous, so I'm guessing they were either used OR had been sat on a shelf discharging for 2 years? All those cells were slightly bloated, I'm guessing the latter?

Hard to say. Great Power does sell direct to smaller customers, as we have bought samples. NOS does get sold off on the grey market. Most of what's on the market is either factory 2nds or recovered cells. For example all of the Lishen 40ah and large terminal 202ah cells are pulled from old government battery storage systems.

I'd lean to recoverd cells at that age over NOS. I've had no problems with bloating on cells that were NOS after a decade. (Early CALB CAM72s).

Update on these cells. Docan assure me they are new, unused, genuine. I have finished top balancing two of the packs and done two capacity tests.
Each 280ah pack came out at 290ah plus. So they are actually looking like Jenny Wu was telling me the truth.

314ah battery $45/cell
280ah battery $37/cell
