Finally found a LiFePO4 BMS with Low-temp Charging Protection

At some point I will. Probably sooner more than later. Then I'll be asking why I waited so long to do it. Have you dealt with "Battery Warehouse" on AliExpress? How long did it take from ordering to them shipping your batteries? Once they ship, how long to get to you? Are you in the US?
No do not use Battery Warehouse. This whole thread is about who I used. Have a look from the beginning. Took about 10 days from order to delivery to Vancouver Canada

? This is the wrong thread for the 280AH cells LMAO but at 01:00 hours... all good, hehehe

This is mndare's thread https://diysolarforum.com/threads/j...1260-00-usd-delivered-grade-a-to-canada.3387/

This is my thread on them: https://diysolarforum.com/threads/xuba-electronics-deal-280ah-lifepo4-cells-purchase-review.3850/

Still waiting for my two 120a units that I ordered from the Aliexpress link on Will's page - they're responsive to messages but shipment keeps getting delayed; although I have a tracking number in the system...

Thanks to all for testing these units. I'm excited to contribute my own hands-on experience when they arrive.

Another BMS related question: If you bypassed the BMS and drew a high-load current through a relay/direct connection/potato with appropriate protection... would the capacity of the batteries be updated in the app?

reworded... how is the intelligent is the capacity monitoring, and would it detect a voltage/capacity drop that's misaligned to the shunt?

Yeah my shipments are still delayed as well. It will probably get worse. Many US warehouses are now running out of stock. This is probably just the beginning.

No you need all current going in and out of BMS to compute SOC. If you want to use external relay etc, add your own shunt

I ordered two 120A from JBD Battery PCB Board Store on Aliexpress as a few other members did here. They finally returned to work this week so I imagine it may take a little while to ship if they have a large backlog. Fortunately I ordered with express shipping so that should help. It was only $12.84 extra.

FYI - I did inquire about the CAN bus. They mentioned they don't stock it but they could be built. I'm not sure how long that would take.

Hi Will, Have the 120 amp version and changed to three 8 gauge silicone copper wires on each side (equiv. to 3 gauge in and out). Seem to be working completely to spec. Very happy with these. Have not tested for an over amperage situation yet.

I’m going with a higher amp BMS and will sell my 2 of these for $110 Total paid via PayPal including shipping to the 48 states. (I’m in CA).

PM me if interested.

One BMS I attempted to desolate one of the 10g wires but my gun is underpowered. It is I damaged, fyi.

Who knows but I ordered 4 total and have already gotten all of them, and a higher amp version than what batteryhookup sells and at a better price. Same as Will reviews but more direct from source. I have gotten and tested 8 x 280ah cells direct from China and was so impressed I have ordered 12 more and they shipped yesterday direct ups air. Thanks again to Amy.., Don’t be afraid of AliExpress or Alibaba. Ordering direct has saved me 40-50% off buying from battery sites or amazon... just have to do a little research and the savings r huge
Oh and the research that Will has done rocks and has been my launch pad for sourcing done this year

The solder they used is very high temp. I used a dremil tool to grind down the solder and remove the old wires, Then used a soldering heat gun and lower temp solder for my 8 guage wires x 3, then set the solder well with a small butane torch. Worked very well

So now have 3 x 8 gauge wires on each side, 3 gauge equivalent on a 120 amp BMS

So I fell for Daly's claim that they could sell me an 8S BMS with low temp cut off. Got it yesterday (finally), and no low temp cut off. Now I get to test Aliexpress and their Claims system.

Question is, does anyone have a BMS recommendation for currently available 100-200amp 8S BMS? Wish this one came in 8S

Yes the units we are discussing in this thread can be ordered as a 8S on Aliexpress

This is the manufacture, the company who makes them. You can order directly from them

Here is their 100 amp unit 8s

Has anyone confirmed that it has low temp cut off? Product description page does not mention it.

Can you use the Bluetooth to connect to a computer and is there a program for either Windows or MacOS for them? If there is, can it log the activity of the battery?

Thanks

Yes Will did. I think it's in his Video. I'll have to go look. He doesn't show testing it, just says that it does.
Don't think he would say that without testing it.

Ok, maybe I'm missing a video somewhere. Thought Will had only looked at the 4S. Currently trying to contact LLT POWER ELECTRONIC but the Skype link doesn't work for me and they don't appear to have email.
Already ordered two crappy Bms's from China at a $200 and 3 month loss. Like to make the next try worth it, lol.

I miss understood your question. Will tested the 4S version. Don't think he has gotten a 8S or 16S version.

Oh I trust the company itself now, I use 120 amp versions, Will tested only the 100 amp version...I am not that untrustworthy. That company is solid and the 120 amp version I use also works perfectly including low temp cutoff. I assume and trust their 8S models are also good...

They have bluetooth and low temp...same architecture as the 4s unit...

Looking at the ones on AliExpress. What is the UART Box and the GPRS Module? The description isn't very good there and a Google search isn't returning anything useful.

Order this unit, it supports the blue tooth module, if you can't find the blue toot module on their site then get that from Aliexpress
