Hi, first post here.

We've just fitted a Solis RAI-3K-48ES-5G AC coupled inverter with a Pylontech US3000C battery.
All working well, it's harvesting the excess off the solar panels and charging the battery. Discharges when the solar output is below the house usage.
I have the "Techview" app on my phone and can connect to the inverter's wifi. This allows me to monitor it's status etc. However I understand the app can also be used to change the settings on the inverter. There is an "advanced user" and "installer" login. My question is "does anybody know what the passwords for these are?" The panel on the inverter has a password for settings which is the default "0010". The app doesn't accept this. Just says "password error"

Hoping it's something I've missed here, lol

I read elsewhere on this forum that you can't send data to the inverter from the Solis cloud servers, but don't use that myself

Yes, the Solis cloud only seems to be capable of monitoring. I rate it as "mildly useful". It's handy to see the graphs of charge and discharge etc. Would be much better if I could tweak the settings remotely though.

We didn't bother with it as I thought it only had a 10 minute resolution. what settings did you want to tweak?

I'd like to set a timer to charge through the night on Octopus Go. Easy enough but I'd like a remote way of tweaking the charge time. Based on time of year and weather forecast.

I've done that with custom code via CANBus interface to our Solis ?‍?, but don't see how that would be possible without such custom integration ?‍♀️.

Thanks, I've read a bit about this. Looks interesting. I've done a bit with vehicle canbus, this looks similar.
I have already tried switching the solis to AP mode and connecting it to the house router. Connects no bother but then the app can't find the server. ( On the solis. ) I suspect the solis has a static IP for it's server which I don't see how to change. ( 10.10.10.1 and subnet 255.255.255.252 ) I'll have a bit more "play" at some point.

One thing I haven't tried yet is setting the charge timer. Looks straightforward but I'm wondering if that mode on the solis cancels charging the battery from excess solar generation. I'll need to set it up and see what it does.

Yes, straightforward. Select 'self-use' mode then sub-menu 'Time-of-use'. From there, set mode to RUN, set charge rate if you want to limit charge current and then just enter the time you want it to charge between. e.g. from 01:00:00 to 03:00:00 if you want 2 hours of charging during economy 7 rate ⚡. That's it. All that will happen is between those hours the Solis will charge the battery (and house will be supplied from grid). Outside those hours, everything will operate as usual (i.e. priority = house load then charge battery then only export excess if battery is full and there is more ☀️ than the house load needs). Don't set anything in the discharge period timing though.

The only issue with doing that is the batteries will charge whatever their state of charge. You will need custom code via the CANBus if you want to, charge up to a specific SOC ?, for example.

That's great info thanks. It's a decent inverter this but the documentation does leave a bit to be desired, lol.

Hi, I have the Solis RAI-3K-48ES (not 5g..) and I can't see a 'self use' mode inside the storage settings. I only see 'Timed charging', 'Off Grid mode' and 'Reserve Battery'... Do you know if I can somehow enable this 'self use' mode? Perhaps I need a software update.. Thanks!

Self use is the default mode. ( on the 5g at least ) Outwith any timed charging sessions this is what the inverter defaults to.

Hi .. yo have two passwords, depending on if you enter like a user or installer...
advanced user: solis123456
installer: solis123
A lot of time for found this pwords, but Techview app is really bad..... :(...

Thanks for that. They are both accepted... and seem pretty useless. I was hoping for more options in the app but you are correct, the Techview app is really bad.

Thanks been hunting for this for ages as other have I understand! Agree Techview is next to useless ?‍♂️

What and how does one use the Canbus mode? I'm also changing my tariff to octopus to charge my batteries at night, and also have the 5G Solis battery Inverter. Using the screen or Solis apps is a nightmare in this day and age.

Hi, my first post also.

I have just programmed my RAI-3K-48ES-5G from the control panel to charge on economy 7 but as my inverter is in a loft space it would be far more convenient to use the Techview app. However, firstly I've noticed you need to be almost on top of the inverter to get a decent WiFi signal and secondly the passwords "solis123" or "solis123456" are not working so I can't connect to the Solis WiFi. Any there any other passwords known to anyone?

Is it even possible to change the charge times from the Techview app?

Thanks.

I don't have the "send-all-my-data-to-china-dongle" on my Solis, but from what others have said, no, it is not possible.

Hi you have simalar setup to me I believe you have the passwords now solis123 and solis123456 there is another password you may want 2017 this is the number to input on the inverter instead of the normal 0010 it gives you an additional sub menu.
If I can ask you a question please do you have the Acrel 10R meter? If so do you have more than 1 ct connections into it? Thanks

Can I please ask; when the weather turns sunny and I don't want to charge at night, is it enough just to change "RUN" to "STOP" to prevent any timed modes taking control. Thanks.

On our inverter we will just delete the charge times and leave the discharge times to 00:00 that way it will not charge from the grid on those times but supply your loads.
