RE+ solar conference is fast approaching! What new products or booths are you interested in?

Whats with the 50 amp charge and discharge limits? All of the batteries I have been shopping for had 100 amp in and out. But I have noticed lately the more expensive options are 50 amps.
Not a server rack but the new EG4 PowerPro is listing a 200amp charge/discharge.

I meant the server rack ones.
I kind of assumed that.
I was on the edge of getting a server rack and six batteries. The new enhanced safety features and exterior rating convinced me to change directions on my build.

I would like to receive suggestions for a replacement inverter for my Outback Radian 8048A. I want a hybrid inverter that can pass AC through to my load subpanel all of the time (grid tied mode). I have a 50 amp 240 volt AC input into the Radian from my main loads panel and a 240 volt 30 amp generator input too. These are selectable and there is automatic backup via battery and generator. The inverter and lithium battery combo should be UL 9540 and UL9540A, and closed loop RS485. Inverter capacity of 10-12k watts. PV capacity of 12k watts or greater. Built in MPPT charge controllers with at least 3 MPPT should be onboard. Time of use on batteries must be supported. Selling to grid must be disabled. Charging batteries from generator should be supported. WIFI or LAN support for remote control. Lastly I would prefer the newer high voltage input inverters and battery banks over the older 48 volt systems.

I am also trying to create a second system for whole home backup on 200 amp main without having to install a large subpanel. Preferably a unit with an internal 200 amp ATS or add on 200 amp ATS. Find this for me.

Any good thoughts and suggestions are very appreciated. Thank you.

I used to love sol ark and I was looking forward to making more videos about them, but now I feel like an idiot for supporting a company and making a video about their product without knowing what their staff is really like. Maybe it was just a bad employee, but most people in this industry are so friendly and a great time to talk to. He definitely is a higher up guy going by how we was talking to me.

Edit: I have his business card and looked him up, it's the CEO/CTO of sol ark! His name is Tom Brennan. Not a fan of this guy.

Sounds like we had a very similar experience with different CEOs...

It's a 280ah battery.. so that's still under 1c constant discharge rate. It's not horrible or anything, but not something to brag about.

He still thinks you work for EG4 LOL. And he certainly does not like people that do diy, dirty little bastards.
Several of these companies are scared out of their wits by EG4, The fortress guy was very guarded at best with me in Miami and GSL outright said they don't like EG4 cuz they steal their business LOL

I really want to find hybrid inverters to compete with sol ark and 18Kpv. And some ground mount racking. Especially ballast mounts
I'd like to see an inexpensive hybrid that can AC couple into the Gen Input. Something like the Grid Growatt with a 48v battery (not the 400v battery growatt has). I can add PV at a fraction of the cost of paralleling a 2nd Sol-Ark/EG4.

That is kind of the impression given off by Sol-Ark.
Which is a great shame and will ultimately torpedo them because you can buy the Deye for half the price if you know where to find them but professional installers and shall we say 'DIYers with money' are willing to pay the extra cost for American support, but being arseholes to us will never work long term.

EVE energy
EVE has a very large booth showing off most of their lineup. Their major focus was on their new LF560k cell. It's the size of 2 LF280ks next to each other and is currently rated at 628ah. Also at the booth was a LF280K with the new octagonal terminals as well as a LF306K with those same terminals. I'd think it replaced the LF304 in the lineup.
I saw your camera was dead but perhaps someone got pictures of the new cells?

These were the only new ones at the booth. Found out that the K indicated the cell was stacked instead of wound today. I was told that EVE is working on a capacity upgrade for the cells as well with no timeline. This makes sense as the 560k is rated at 628ah, which is 2x314. They also said they are working on LMFP cells but could not share any information.

Why would they put the screen on the removable part though.

I think we are going to see a lot more of this one around here, if the price is competitive

Agreed - how many versions are we up to now? And which version is the best and will sell the most? Probably the EG4

That is the "original" model that LPT came out with (and the one I have)
LCD is on the part that flips up and the connection box to hook everything up is smaller.

How do you like the original? Using it to the max capacity?
I am currently in a redesign on my setup. Currently it is in the OFF position. Hooking up 40kWh batteries soon and at least 12kW PV.
So far I have absolutely loved every part of it. Especially after the experiences I had before with the MR 8K (which is still active btw)
Don't touch it if it isn't broken.

Good to know!
